2024-04-05selftests/bpf: Verify calling core kfuncs from BPF_PROG_TYPE_SYCALLDavid Vernet
Now that we can call some kfuncs from BPF_PROG_TYPE_SYSCALL progs, let's add some selftests that verify as much. As a bonus, let's also verify that we can't call the progs from raw tracepoints. Do do this, we add a new selftest suite called verifier_kfunc_prog_types. 2023-04-12bpf: Remove bpf_cgroup_kptr_get() kfuncDavid Vernet
Now that bpf_cgroup_acquire() is KF_RCU | KF_RET_NULL, bpf_cgroup_kptr_get() is redundant. Let's remove it, and update selftests to instead use bpf_cgroup_acquire() where appropriate. The next patch will update the BPF documentation to not mention bpf_cgroup_kptr_get(). 2023-04-12bpf: Make bpf_cgroup_acquire() KF_RCU | KF_RET_NULLDavid Vernet
struct cgroup is already an RCU-safe type in the verifier. We can therefore update bpf_cgroup_acquire() to be KF_RCU | KF_RET_NULL, and subsequently remove bpf_cgroup_kptr_get(). This patch does the first of these by updating bpf_cgroup_acquire() to be KF_RCU | KF_RET_NULL, and also updates selftests accordingly. 2023-03-03bpf: Rename __kptr_ref -> __kptr and __kptr -> __kptr_untrusted.Alexei Starovoitov
__kptr meant to store PTR_UNTRUSTED kernel pointers inside bpf maps. The concept felt useful, but didn't get much traction, since bpf_rdonly_cast() was added soon after and bpf programs received a simpler way to access PTR_UNTRUSTED kernel pointers without going through restrictive __kptr usage. Rename __kptr_ref -> __kptr and __kptr -> __kptr_untrusted to indicate its intended usage. The main goal of __kptr_untrusted was to read/write such pointers directly while bpf_kptr_xchg was a mechanism to access refcnted kernel pointers. The next patch will allow RCU protected __kptr access with direct read. At that point __kptr_untrusted will be deprecated. 2022-11-22selftests/bpf: Add selftests for bpf_cgroup_ancestor() kfuncDavid Vernet
bpf_cgroup_ancestor() allows BPF programs to access the ancestor of a struct cgroup *. This patch adds selftests that validate its expected behavior.
