2025-05-09wifi: iwlwifi: rename struct iwl_base_paramsJohannes Berg
These are (going to be) base MAC parameters that are identical even for different platforms with the same MAC, so rename the structure accordingly, calling it iwl_family_base_params. Also rename the pointer to it so the dereferencing is a bit shorter. 2025-05-09wifi: iwlwifi: rename cfg_trans_params to mac_cfgJohannes Berg
Since 9000 series devices, the devices are split into MAC and CRF parts. Currently, "struct iwl_cfg" reflects some MAC and some RF parameters, but we want to clean this up and move the MAC data to what's now "struct iwl_cfg_trans_params". As the first step, to reflect the intent, rename this structure. 2024-10-23wifi: mac80211: re-order assigning channel in activate linksAditya Kumar Singh
The current flow in _ieee80211_set_active_links() does not align with the operational requirements of drivers that groups multiple hardware under a single wiphy. These drivers (e.g ath12k) rely on channel assignment to determine the appropriate hardware for each link. Without this, the drivers cannot correctly establish the link interface. Currently in _ieee80211_set_active_links(), after calling drv_change_vif_links() on the driver, the state of all connected stations is updated via drv_change_sta_links(). This is followed by handling keys in the links, and finally, assigning the channel to the links. Consequently, drv_change_sta_links() prompts drivers to create the station entry at their level and within their firmware. However, since channels have not yet been assigned to links at this stage, drivers have not created the necessary link interface for establishing link stations, leading to failures in activating the links. Therefore, re-order the logic so that after drv_change_vif_links() and removing the old links, channels are assigned to newly added links. Following this, the flow proceeds to station handling. 2024-05-29wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: handle BA session teardown in RF-killJohannes Berg
When entering RF-kill, mac80211 tears down BA sessions, but due to RF-kill the commands aren't sent to the device. As a result, there can be frames pending on the reorder buffer or perhaps even received while doing so, leading to warnings. Avoid the warnings by doing the BA session teardown normally even in RF-kill, which also requires queue sync. 2024-05-29wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: remove stale STA link data during restartBenjamin Berg
If pre-recovery mac80211 tried to disable a link but this disablement failed, then there might be a mismatch between mac80211 assuming the link has been disabled and the driver still having the data around. During recover itself, that is not a problem, but should the link be activated again at a later point, iwlwifi will refuse the activation as it detects the inconsistent state. Solve this corner-case by iterating the station in the restart cleanup handler. 2023-10-23wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: change iwl_mvm_flush_sta() APIJohannes Berg
This API is type unsafe and needs an extra parameter to know what kind of station was passed, so it has two, but really it only needs two values. We've observed that in some botched firmware restart scenarios when the firmware crashes again while we're reconfiguring, we can hit NULL pointer crashes here. 2023-04-18wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: remove per-STA MFP settingJohannes Berg
When we first add the STA before sending an authentication frame this is false. However, in some cases such as FT or certainly in MLO link switch scenarios, it will be true. If it happens to be true, it causes a firmware assert (in LMAC, 0x2528), because the same bit is used by the firmware for tracking this setting as well as for tracking if the management key has been installed, and then we get this assert from the firmware when installing the MFP key as it thinks it has already been installed. Remove the setting for now, until the firmware disentangles the two. We should be able to set it, in fact we should be setting it speculatively before authentication/association, to avoid processing management frames that should have been protected/encrypted before the key is set. 2023-03-30wifi: iwlwifi: mvm: fix station link data leakJohannes Berg
When we remove the station, we call iwl_mvm_sta_del() which returns true if we cannot remove it from the firmware yet, which happens if this is the station ID for the AP station that's still used because the MAC is still associated. However, we still must free the link data as the station is only kept alive in the firmware, in mac80211 and driver the data structures are destroyed. To fix that, we need to make iwl_mvm_mld_free_sta_link() track whether or not the station is still alive in FW, as otherwise we might reuse the station ID in the meantime and iwl_mvm_mld_rm_sta_from_fw() would reject the later delete from the firmware. Add an argument to it for that. Then we can use the return value of iwl_mvm_sta_del() for that to fix the issue, and call iwl_mvm_mld_rm_sta_from_fw() only if we need to not keep the station in FW.
