2025-06-27drm/i915/fbdev: Add intel_fbdev_get_map()Jocelyn Falempe
The vaddr of the fbdev framebuffer is private to the struct intel_fbdev, so this function is needed to access it for drm_panic. Also the struct i915_vma is different between i915 and xe, so it requires a few functions to access fbdev->vma->iomap. 2025-02-06drm/i915: Calculate the VT-d guard size in the display codeVille Syrjälä
Currently i915_gem_object_pin_to_display_plane() uses i915_gem_object_get_tile_row_size() to calculate the tile row size for the VT-d guard w/a. That's not really proper since i915_gem_object_get_tile_row_size() only works for fenced BOs, nor does it take rotation into account. Remedy the situation by calculating the VT-d guard size in the display code where we have more information readily available. Although the default guard size (168 PTEs now) should cover the more typical fb size use cases anyway, and only very large Y/Yf-tiled framebuffers might have tile row size that exceeds it. 2025-01-21drm/xe/display: Re-use display vmas when possibleMaarten Lankhorst
i915 has this really nice, infrastructure where everything becomes complicated, GGTT needs eviction, etc.. Lets not do that, and make the dumbest possible interface instead. Try to retrieve the VMA from old_plane_state, or intel_fbdev if kernel fb. 2024-06-24drm/i915: Introduce the plane->min_alignment() vfuncVille Syrjälä
Different hardware generations have different scanout alignment requirements. Introduce a new vfunc that will allow us to make that distinction without horrible if-ladders. For now we directly plug in the existing intel_surf_alignment() and intel_cursor_alignment() functions. For fbdev we (temporarily) introduce intel_fbdev_min_alignment() that simply queries the alignment from the primary plane of the first crtc. 2024-05-13drm/i915: Rename the fb pinning functions to indicate the address spaceVille Syrjälä
Rename the fb pinning functions such that their name directly informs us what gets pinned into which address space. 2024-05-13drm/i915: Constify 'fb' in during pinningVille Syrjälä
Make the 'fb' pointers const in the pinning code. We never want to mutate these. Also nuke a few aliasing fb vs. intel_fb cases by just using the more specific type everywhere in the same function. 2022-09-08drm/i915: Rename ggtt_view as gtt_viewNiranjana Vishwanathapura
So far, different views (normal, partial, rotated and remapped) into the same object are only supported for GGTT mappings. But with the upcoming VM_BIND feature, PPGTT will also use the partial view mapping. Hence rename ggtt_view to more generic gtt_view.
