2025-05-16powerpc: Switch to irq_find_mapping()Jiri Slaby (SUSE)
irq_linear_revmap() is deprecated, so remove all its uses and supersede them by an identical call to irq_find_mapping(). [ tglx: Fix up subject prefix ] Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby (SUSE) <jirislaby@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Acked-by: Christophe Leroy <christophe.leroy@csgroup.eu> # for 8xx Link: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250319092951.37667-42-jirislaby@kernel.org
2025-05-16powerpc: Switch to irq_domain_create_*()Jiri Slaby (SUSE)
irq_domain_add_*() interfaces are going away as being obsolete now. Switch to the preferred irq_domain_create_*() ones. Those differ in the node parameter: They take more generic struct fwnode_handle instead of struct device_node. Therefore, of_fwnode_handle() is added around the original parameter. Note some of the users can likely use dev->fwnode directly instead of indirect of_fwnode_handle(dev->of_node). But dev->fwnode is not guaranteed to be set for all, so this has to be investigated on case to case basis (by people who can actually test with the HW). 2025-04-04irqdomain: Rename irq_set_default_host() to irq_set_default_domain()Jiri Slaby (SUSE)
Naming interrupt domains host is confusing at best and the irqdomain code uses both domain and host inconsistently. Therefore rename irq_set_default_host() to irq_set_default_domain(). 2024-10-29powerpc/machdep: Drop include of seq_file.hMichael Ellerman
Drop the include of seq_file.h in machdep.h, replace it with a forward declaration of struct seq_file, which is all that's required. 2023-08-02powerpc: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-04-20powerpc: drop HPC II (MPC7448) evaluation platform support.Paul Gortmaker
This was an interesting platform - it was the 1st instance of a respin of earlier 130nm 74xx CPUs on 90nm and systems using MPC7448 were positioned as a rack server platform solution. Given that, the evaluation platform (at least the one I had) was shipped in a horizontal 1/2 height Antec desktop case with retro styling and colours, despite the fact the docs explicitly stated that the HPC II is not a desktop machine (noting it had no gfx or legacy PC I/O support). Historic trivia aside, this was the 1st introduction of the e600 procfam as an evolution from the earlier G4. However even with the claim to being "1st e600" it seems the 2005+ era was turning its attention to multicore support and from my memory this poor guy was quickly overshadowed by the dual core MPC8641D. All that aside, we are once again looking at 15+ year old evaluation platforms that were not widely distributed, so 2023 removal makes sense. 2021-06-25powerpc/64s: avoid reloading (H)SRR registers if they are still validNicholas Piggin
When an interrupt is taken, the SRR registers are set to return to where it left off. Unless they are modified in the meantime, or the return address or MSR are modified, there is no need to reload these registers when returning from interrupt. Introduce per-CPU flags that track the validity of SRR and HSRR registers. These are cleared when returning from interrupt, when using the registers for something else (e.g., OPAL calls), when adjusting the return address or MSR of a context, and when context switching (which changes the return address and MSR). This improves the performance of interrupt returns. 2019-04-20powerpc/embedded6xx: Make some functions staticMathieu Malaterre
In commit cb9e4d10c448 ("[POWERPC] Add support for 750CL Holly board") new functions were added. Since most of these functions can be made static, make it so. Both holly_power_off and holly_halt functions were not changed since they are unused, making them static would have triggered the following warning (treated as error): arch/powerpc/platforms/embedded6xx/holly.c:244:13: error: 'holly_halt' defined but not used Silence the following warnings triggered using W=1: arch/powerpc/platforms/embedded6xx/holly.c:47:5: error: no previous prototype for 'holly_exclude_device' arch/powerpc/platforms/embedded6xx/holly.c:190:6: error: no previous prototype for 'holly_show_cpuinfo' arch/powerpc/platforms/embedded6xx/holly.c:196:17: error: no previous prototype for 'holly_restart' Signed-off-by: Mathieu Malaterre <malat@debian.org> Reviewed-by: Mukesh Ojha <mojha@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>

2018-05-15powerpc/embedded6xx/hlwd-pic: Prevent interrupts from being handled by StarletJonathan Neuschäfer
The interrupt controller inside the Wii's Hollywood chip is connected to two masters, the "Broadway" PowerPC and the "Starlet" ARM926, each with their own interrupt status and mask registers. When booting the Wii with mini[1], interrupts from the SD card controller (IRQ 7) are handled by the ARM, because mini provides SD access over IPC. Linux however can't currently use or disable this IPC service, so both sides try to handle IRQ 7 without coordination. Let's instead make sure that all interrupts that are unmasked on the PPC side are masked on the ARM side; this will also make sure that Linux can properly talk to the SD card controller (and potentially other devices). If access to a device through IPC is desired in the future, interrupts from that device should not be handled by Linux directly. 2018-05-15powerpc/embedded6xx/flipper-pic: Don't match all IRQ domainsJonathan Neuschäfer
On the Wii, there is a secondary IRQ controller (hlwd-pic), so flipper-pic's match operation should not be hardcoded to return 1. In fact, the default matching logic is sufficient, and we can completely omit flipper_pic_match. 2018-04-01powerpc/wii: Don't rely on the reserved memory hackJonathan Neuschäfer
Because the two memory blocks (usually called MEM1 and MEM2) are not merged anymore, __request_region in kernel/resource.c will correctly allow reserving regions in the physical address space between MEM1 and MEM2, where many important peripherals are (GPIO, MMC, USB, ...). A previous change to __ioremap_caller in arch/powerpc/mm/pgtable_32.c ensures that multiple memblocks are properly considered in ioremap; this makes it unnecessary to set __allow_ioremap_reserved.
