2008-10-07IPVS: Move IPVS to net/netfilter/ipvsJulius Volz
Since IPVS now has partial IPv6 support, this patch moves IPVS from net/ipv4/ipvs to net/netfilter/ipvs. It's a result of: $ git mv net/ipv4/ipvs net/netfilter and adapting the relevant Kconfigs/Makefiles to the new path. 2008-09-09ipvs: handle PARTIAL_CHECKSUMSimon Horman
Now that LVS can load balance locally generated traffic, packets may come from the loopback device and thus may have a partial checksum. The existing code allows for the case where there is no checksum at all for TCP, however Herbert Xu has confirmed that this is not legal. 2008-09-05ipvs: load balance IPv4 connections from a local processMalcolm Turnbull
This allows IPVS to load balance connections made by a local process. For example a proxy server running locally. External client --> pound:443 -> Local:443 --> IPVS:80 --> RealServer Signed-off-by: Siim Põder <siim@p6drad-teel.net> Signed-off-by: Malcolm Turnbull <malcolm@loadbalancer.org> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>
2008-09-05IPVS: Adjust various debug outputs to use new macrosJulius Volz
Adjust various debug outputs to use the new *_BUF macro variants for correct output of v4/v6 addresses. Signed-off-by: Julius Volz <juliusv@google.com> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>
2008-09-05IPVS: Extend functions for getting/creating connectionsJulius Volz
Extend functions for getting/creating connections and connection templates for IPv6 support and fix the callers. Signed-off-by: Julius Volz <juliusv@google.com> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>
2008-09-05IPVS: Extend protocol DNAT/SNAT and state handlersJulius Volz
Extend protocol DNAT/SNAT and state handlers to work with IPv6. Also change/introduce new checksumming helper functions for this. Signed-off-by: Julius Volz <juliusv@google.com> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>
2008-09-05IPVS: Add 'af' args to protocol handler functionsJulius Volz
Add 'af' arguments to conn_schedule(), conn_in_get(), conn_out_get() and csum_check() function pointers in struct ip_vs_protocol. Extend the respective functions for TCP, UDP, AH and ESP and adjust the callers. The changes in the callers need to be somewhat extensive, since they now need to pass a filled out struct ip_vs_iphdr * to the modified functions instead of a struct iphdr *. 2008-09-05IPVS: Add v6 support to ip_vs_service_get()Julius Volz
Add support for selecting services based on their address family to ip_vs_service_get() and adjust the callers. Signed-off-by: Julius Volz <juliusv@google.com> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>
2008-09-05IPVS: Change IPVS data structures to support IPv6 addressesJulius Volz
Introduce new 'af' fields into IPVS data structures for specifying an entry's address family. Convert IP addresses to be of type union nf_inet_addr. Signed-off-by: Julius Volz <juliusv@google.com> Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>
2008-06-11net: remove CVS keywordsAdrian Bunk
This patch removes CVS keywords that weren't updated for a long time from comments. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-04-29ipvs: fix oops in backup for fwmark conn templatesJulian Anastasov
Fixes bug http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10556 where conn templates with protocol=IPPROTO_IP can oops backup box. Result from ip_vs_proto_get() should be checked because protocol value can be invalid or unsupported in backup. But for valid message we should not fail for templates which use IPPROTO_IP. Also, add checks to validate message limits and connection state. Show state NONE for templates using IPPROTO_IP. Signed-off-by: Julian Anastasov <ja@ssi.bg> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-03-05net: replace remaining __FUNCTION__ occurrencesHarvey Harrison

2007-10-15[NETFILTER]: Replace sk_buff ** with sk_buff *Herbert Xu
With all the users of the double pointers removed, this patch mops up by finally replacing all occurances of sk_buff ** in the netfilter API by sk_buff *. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2007-10-15[IPVS]: Replace local version of skb_make_writableHerbert Xu
This patch removes the IPVS-specific version of skb_make_writable and replaces it with the netfilter one. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2007-04-25[IP]: Introduce ip_hdrlen()Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo
For the common sequence "skb->nh.iph->ihl * 4", removing a good number of open coded skb->nh.iph uses, now to go after the rest... Just out of curiosity, here are the idioms found to get the same result: skb->nh.iph->ihl << 2 skb->nh.iph->ihl<<2 skb->nh.iph->ihl * 4 skb->nh.iph->ihl*4 (skb->nh.iph)->ihl * sizeof(u32) Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2006-12-02[NET]: Turn nfmark into generic markThomas Graf
nfmark is being used in various subsystems and has become the defacto mark field for all kinds of packets. Therefore it makes sense to rename it to `mark' and remove the dependency on CONFIG_NETFILTER. Signed-off-by: Thomas Graf <tgraf@suug.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2006-11-10[IPVS]: More endianness fixed.Julian Anastasov
- make sure port in FTP data is in network order (in fact it was looking buggy for big endian boxes before Viro's changes) - htonl -> htons for port Signed-off-by: Julian Anastasov <ja@ssi.bg> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2006-09-22[NET]: Replace CHECKSUM_HW by CHECKSUM_PARTIAL/CHECKSUM_COMPLETEPatrick McHardy
Replace CHECKSUM_HW by CHECKSUM_PARTIAL (for outgoing packets, whose checksum still needs to be completed) and CHECKSUM_COMPLETE (for incoming packets, device supplied full checksum). Patch originally from Herbert Xu, updated by myself for 2.6.18-rc3. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2006-01-03[IPVS]: Cleanup IP_VS_DBG statements.Roberto Nibali
From: Roberto Nibali <ratz@drugphish.ch> The attached patch (against current -GIT) is a cleanup patch which does following: o lookup debug messages shifted back to 9 o added more informational value to flags and refcnt since those entries can be in multiple referenced structures o cleanup 80 char violation It's the prepatch to the session pool implementation and helps very much to debug and monitor important variables and structures regarding the threshold limitation and persistency without the thousands of lookup messages which noone is interested in. 2006-01-03[IPVS]: remove dead codeRoberto Nibali
This patch removes dead code. I don't see the reason to keep this cruft around, besides cluttering the nice and functionally working code. Signed-off-by: Roberto Nibali <ratz@drugphish.ch> Signed-off-by: Horms <horms@verge.net.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2005-11-29[NET]: Add const markers to various variables.Arjan van de Ven
the patch below marks various variables const in net/; the goal is to move them to the .rodata section so that they can't false-share cachelines with things that get written to, as well as potentially helping gcc a bit with optimisations. (these were found using a gcc patch to warn about such variables) Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2005-08-29[IPVS]: Rename tcp_{init,exit}() --> ip_vs_tcp_{init,exit}()David S. Miller
Conflicts with global namespace functions with the same name. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
