Added the support of AD1989A and AD1989B codecs. These codecs can have multiple SPDIF devices, but currently we handle only one SPDIF. If any real devices with two SPDIF interfaces (likely one for SPDIF and one for HDMI), we'll fix this rightly. Otherwise, these codecs are pretty similar with AD1988. This adds support for Quanta IL1 mini-notebook to alsa, defining a new model for it. It comes with an ALC267 codec chip. Some notes about this model: * In headphone automute, I use AC_VERB_SET_PIN_WIDGET_CONTROL instead of common amp mute, to avoid conflict with mixer switch (mixer and automute use the same nid). * The only connected capture sources in the hardware are the internal mic and external mic jack. So instead of using an input source selector like on other ALC268 models, the mic automute automatically switch between captures. This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. 2008-01-31[ALSA] Remove PCM xfer_align sw paramsTakashi Iwai
The xfer_align sw_params parameter has never been used in a sane manner, and no one understands what this does exactly. The current implementation looks also buggy because it allows write of shorter size than xfer_align. So, if you do partial writes, the write isn't actually aligned at all. 2008-01-31[ALSA] sound/isa: kill pnp_resource_changeRene Herman
This removes the pnp_resource_change use from the ALSA ISAPnP drivers. In 2.4 these were useful in providing an easy path to setting the resources, but in 2.6 they retain function as a layering violation only. This makes for a nice cleanup (-550 lines) of ALSA but moreover, ALSA is the only remaining user of pnp_init_resource_table(), pnp_resource_change() and pnp_manual_config_dev() (and, in fact, of 'struct pnp_resource_table') in the tree outide of drivers/pnp itself meaning it makes for more cleanup potential inside the PnP layer. Thomas Renninger acked their removal from that side, you did from the ALSA side (CC list just copied from that thread). Against current alsa-kernel HG. Many more potential cleanups in there, but this _only_ removes the pnp_resource_change code. Compile tested against current alsa-kernel HG and compile- and use-tested against 2.6.23.x (few offsets). Fix the output of Gateway laptops with STAC9200 codec chip. They require the EAPD control for some pins. These pins shouldn't be powered down. To enable EAPD control, a new model 'gateway' was added to STAC9200. The known PCI SSIDs are included in the quirk list. The fix was originally suggested by Brian Hinz, in ALSA bug#2948.
