2022-02-15perf intel-pt: decoder: Add MODE.Exec IFLAG processingAdrian Hunter
As of Intel SDM (https://www.intel.com/sdm) version 076, there is a new Intel PT feature called Event Trace which adds a bit to the existing MODE.Exec packet to record the interrupt flag. Previously, the MODE.Exec packet did not generate any events, so the new processing required is practically the same as a new packet. processing As of Intel SDM (https://www.intel.com/sdm) version 076, there is a new Intel PT feature called Event Trace which requires 2 new packets CFE (Control Flow Event) and EVD (Event Data). Each Event Trace event is represented by a CFE packet that is preceded by zero or more EVD packets. It may be bound to a following FUP (Flow Update) packet that provides the IP. Event Trace exposes details about asynchronous events. The CFE packet contains a type field to identify one of the following: 1 INTR interrupt, fault, exception, NMI 2 IRET interrupt return 3 SMI system management interrupt 4 RSM resume from system management mode 5 SIPI startup interprocessor interrupt 6 INIT INIT signal 7 VMENTRY VM-Entry 8 VMEXIT VM-Entry 9 VMEXIT_INTR VM-Exit due to interrupt 10 SHUTDOWN Shutdown For more details, refer to the Intel SDM, Intel Processor Trace chapter. Add processing to the decoder for the new packets. 2022-02-15selftests: bpf: Check bpf_msg_push_data return valueFelix Maurer
bpf_msg_push_data may return a non-zero value to indicate an error. The return value should be checked to prevent undetected errors. To indicate an error, the BPF programs now perform a different action than their intended one to make the userspace test program notice the error, i.e., the programs supposed to pass/redirect drop, the program supposed to drop passes. 2022-02-14perf test: Allow skip for all metrics testIan Rogers
Some Intel TMA metrics compute a ratio that may divide by 0, which causes the metric not to print. This happens for metrics with FP_ARITH events. If we see these events in the result and would otherwise fail, then switch to a skip. Also, don't early exit when processing metrics. 2022-02-14perf bpf: Stop using deprecated bpf_object__next() APIChristy Lee
Libbpf has deprecated the ability to keep track of object list inside libbpf, it now requires applications to track usage multiple bpf objects directly. Remove usage of bpf_object__next() API and hoist the tracking logic to perf. 2022-02-14selftests/seccomp: Fix seccomp failure by adding missing headersSherry Yang
seccomp_bpf failed on tests 47 global.user_notification_filter_empty and 48 global.user_notification_filter_empty_threaded when it's tested on updated kernel but with old kernel headers. Because old kernel headers don't have definition of macro __NR_clone3 which is required for these two tests. Since under selftests/, we can install headers once for all tests (the default INSTALL_HDR_PATH is usr/include), fix it by adding usr/include to the list of directories to be searched. Use "-isystem" to indicate it's a system directory as the real kernel headers directories are.
