syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in sock_omalloc() while allocating
a CALIPSO option. [0]
The NULL is of struct sock, which was fetched by sk_to_full_sk() in
calipso_req_setattr().
Since commit a1a5344ddbe8 ("tcp: avoid two atomic ops for syncookies"),
reqsk->rsk_listener could be NULL when SYN Cookie is returned to its
client, as hinted by the leading SYN Cookie log.
Here are 3 options to fix the bug:
1) Return 0 in calipso_req_setattr()
2) Return an error in calipso_req_setattr()
3) Alaways set rsk_listener
1) is no go as it bypasses LSM, but 2) effectively disables SYN Cookie
for CALIPSO. 3) is also no go as there have been many efforts to reduce
atomic ops and make TCP robust against DDoS. See also commit 3b24d854cb35
("tcp/dccp: do not touch listener sk_refcnt under synflood").
As of the blamed commit, SYN Cookie already did not need refcounting,
and no one has stumbled on the bug for 9 years, so no CALIPSO user will
care about SYN Cookie.
Let's return an error in calipso_req_setattr() and calipso_req_delattr()
in the SYN Cookie case.
This can be reproduced by [1] on Fedora and now connect() of nc times out.

When calling netlbl_conn_setattr(), addr->sa_family is used
to determine the function behavior. If sk is an IPv4 socket,
but the connect function is called with an IPv6 address,
the function calipso_sock_setattr() is triggered.
Inside this function, the following code is executed:
sk_fullsock(__sk) ? inet_sk(__sk)->pinet6 : NULL;
Since sk is an IPv4 socket, pinet6 is NULL, leading to a
null pointer dereference.
This patch fixes the issue by checking if inet6_sk(sk)
returns a NULL pointer before accessing pinet6.

Since commit 446fda4f2682 ("[NetLabel]: CIPSOv4 engine"), *bitmap_walk
function only returns -1. Nearly 18 years have passed, -2 scenes never

The current CIPSO and CALIPSO refcounting scheme for the DOI
definitions is a bit flawed in that we:
1. Don't correctly match gets/puts in netlbl_cipsov4_list().
2. Decrement the refcount on each attempt to remove the DOI from the
DOI list, only removing it from the list once the refcount drops
to zero.
This patch fixes these problems by adding the missing "puts" to
netlbl_cipsov4_list() and introduces a more conventional, i.e.
not-buggy, refcounting mechanism to the DOI definitions. Upon the
addition of a DOI to the DOI list, it is initialized with a refcount
of one, removing a DOI from the list removes it from the list and
drops the refcount by one; "gets" and "puts" behave as expected with
respect to refcounts, increasing and decreasing the DOI's refcount by
one.

The cipso and calipso code can set the MLS_CAT attribute on
successful parsing, even if the corresponding catmap has
not been allocated, as per current configuration and external
input.
Later, selinux code tries to access the catmap if the MLS_CAT flag
is present via netlbl_catmap_getlong(). That may cause null ptr
dereference while processing incoming network traffic.
Address the issue setting the MLS_CAT flag only if the catmap is
really allocated. Additionally let netlbl_catmap_getlong() cope
with NULL catmap.

While not present in the backtrace, ipv6_renew_option() ends up calling
access_ok() via the following chain:

The fix presented in this patch is to perform the userspace copy
earlier in the call chain such that it is only called when the option
data is actually coming from userspace; that place is
do_ipv6_setsockopt(). Not only does this solve the problem seen in
the backtrace above, it also allows us to simplify the code quite a
bit by removing ipv6_renew_options_kern() completely. We also take
this opportunity to cleanup ipv6_renew_options()/ipv6_renew_option()
a small amount as well.
This patch is heavily based on a rough patch by Al Viro. I've taken
his original patch, converted a kmemdup() call in do_ipv6_setsockopt()
to a memdup_user() call, made better use of the e_inval jump target in
the same function, and cleaned up the use ipv6_renew_option() by
ipv6_renew_options().

When using CALIPSO with IPPROTO_UDP it is possible to trigger a GPF as the
IP header may have moved.
Also update the payload length after adding the CALIPSO option.

Currently, if calipso_genopt fails then the error exit path
does not free the ipv6_opt_hdr new causing a memory leak. Fix
this by kfree'ing new on the error exit path.

This works in exactly the same way as the CIPSO label cache.
The idea is to allow the lsm to cache the result of a secattr
lookup so that it doesn't need to perform the lookup for
every skbuff.
It introduces two sysctl controls:
calipso_cache_enable - enables/disables the cache.
calipso_cache_bucket_size - sets the size of a cache bucket.

Lengths, checksum and the DOI are checked. Checking of the
level and categories are left for the socket layer.
CRC validation is performed in the calipso module to avoid
unconditionally linking crc_ccitt() into ipv6.

In some cases, the lsm needs to add the label to the skbuff directly.
A NF_INET_LOCAL_OUT IPv6 hook is added to selinux to match the IPv4
behaviour. This allows selinux to label the skbuffs that it requires.

Request sockets need to have a label that takes into account the
incoming connection as well as their parent's label. This is used
for the outgoing SYN-ACK and for their child full-socket.

CALIPSO is a hop-by-hop IPv6 option. A lot of this patch is based on
the equivalent CISPO code. The main difference is due to manipulating
the options in the hop-by-hop header.

CALIPSO is a packet labelling protocol for IPv6 which is very similar
to CIPSO. It is specified in RFC 5570. Much of the code is based on
the current CIPSO code.
This adds support for adding passthrough-type CALIPSO DOIs through the
NLBL_CALIPSO_C_ADD command. It requires attributes:
NLBL_CALIPSO_A_TYPE which must be CALIPSO_MAP_PASS.
NLBL_CALIPSO_A_DOI.
In passthrough mode the CALIPSO engine will map MLS secattr levels
and categories directly to the packet label.
At this stage, the major difference between this and the CIPSO
code is that IPv6 may be compiled as a module. To allow for
this the CALIPSO functions are registered at module init time.
