2018-06-08PCI: Collect all native drivers under drivers/pci/controller/Shawn Lin
Native PCI drivers for root complex devices were originally all in drivers/pci/host/. Some of these devices can also be operated in endpoint mode. Drivers for endpoint mode didn't seem to fit in the "host" directory, so we put both the root complex and endpoint drivers in per-device directories, e.g., drivers/pci/dwc/, drivers/pci/cadence/, etc. These per-device directories contain trivial Kconfig and Makefiles and clutter drivers/pci/. Make a new drivers/pci/controllers/ directory and collect all the device-specific drivers there. No functional change intended. 2018-01-28PCI: Add SPDX GPL-2.0 to replace GPL v2 boilerplateBjorn Helgaas
Add SPDX GPL-2.0 to all PCI files that specified the GPL version 2 license. Remove the boilerplate GPL version 2 language, relying on the assertion in b24413180f56 ("License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license") that the SPDX identifier may be used instead of the full boilerplate text. 2017-10-20PCI: layerscape: Change default error response behaviorMinghuan Lian
By default, when the PCIe controller experiences an erroneous completion from an external completer for its outbound non-posted request, it sends an OKAY response to the device's internal AXI slave system interface. However, this default system error response behavior cannot be used for other types of outbound non-posted requests. For example, the outbound memory read transaction requires an actual ERROR response, like UR completion or completion timeout. Fix this by forwarding the error response of the non-posted request. 2017-08-29PCI: dwc: Add accessors for write permission of DBI read-only registersHou Zhiqiang

2017-08-29PCI: layerscape: Disable outbound windows configured by bootloaderHou Zhiqiang

2017-08-29PCI: layerscape: Move generic init functions earlier in fileHou Zhiqiang
We will use the generic ls_pcie_link_up() and ls_pcie_host_init() from device-specific routines. Move the generic functions earlier in the file so we won't need forward declarations. 2017-08-29PCI: layerscape: Call dw_pcie_setup_rc() from ls_pcie_host_init()Hou Zhiqiang
We called dw_pcie_setup_rc() from the ls1021a host init function, but not from the common ls_pcie_host_init() function, so platforms other than ls1021a still depended on initialization by the bootloader. 2017-04-28PCI: Don't allow unbinding host controllers that aren't preparedBrian Norris
Many PCI host controller drivers aren't prepared to have their devices unbound from them forcefully (e.g., through /sys/.../<driver>/unbind), as they don't provide any driver .remove callback, where they'd detach the root bus, release resources, etc. Keeping the driver built in (i.e., not a loadable module) is not enough; and providing no .remove callback just means we don't do any teardown. To rule out the possibility of unbinding a device via sysfs, we need to set the ".suppress_bind_attrs" field. I found the suspect drivers via the following search: git grep -l platform_driver $(git grep -L -e '\.remove' -e suppress_bind_attrs drivers/pci/) Then I inspected them to ensure that (a) they set up a PCI bus in their probe() and (b) they don't have a remove() callback for undoing the setup Suggested-by: Bjorn Helgaas <helgaas@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <briannorris@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>

2017-02-21PCI: dwc: all: Split struct pcie_port into host-only and core structuresKishon Vijay Abraham I

2017-02-21PCI: dwc: all: Use platform_set_drvdata() to save private dataKishon Vijay Abraham I
Add platform_set_drvdata() in all designware-based drivers to store the private data structure of the driver so that dev_set_drvdata() can be used to get back private data structure in add_pcie_port/host_init. This is in preparation for splitting struct pcie_port into core and host only structures. After the split pcie_port will not be part of the driver's private data structure and *container_of* used now to get the private data pointer cannot be used.
