2024-04-18net: ipa: more include file cleanupAlex Elder
All of the config data files and all of the register definition files (plus a few others) use GSI_EE_AP, which is defined in "ipa_version.h". Include that header where it's needed. All of the IPA register definition files include "../ipa.h", though none of them need anything defined there. Similarly, all of the GSI register definition files include "../gsi.h", but don't need anything defined there. Remove these unnneded includes. All of the configuration data files include "../gsi.h", though none of them need anything defined there, so remove these includes. Remove other includes of local header files that are not required. 2024-04-18net: ipa: remove unneeded standard includesAlex Elder
Some IPA header files include one or more other standard header files despite not directly needing anything defined in the included files. Remove these unnecessary includes. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com>

Rather than using the platform device pointer field in the IPA pointer, pass a platform device pointer to ipa_reg_init(). Use that pointer throughout that function. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2023-11-24net: ipa: add IPA v5.5 register definitionsAlex Elder
GSI register definitions for IPA v5.5 are the same as those used for IPA v5.0. Update ipa_reg_id_valid() to reflect that IPA v5.0+ supports source and destination resource groups 4 through 7. Add the definitions of IPA register offsets and fields for IPA v5.5. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2023-11-24net: ipa: prepare for IPA v5.5Alex Elder
For IPA v5.5+, the QTIME_TIMESTAMP_CFG register no longer defines two fields in the DPL timestamp. Make the code referencing those fields in ipa_qtime_config() conditional based on IPA version. IPA v5.0+ supports the IPA_MEM_AP_V4_FILTER and IPA_MEM_AP_V6_FILTER memory regions. Update ipa_mem_id_valid() to reflect that. IPA v5.5 no longer supports a few register fields, adds some others, and removes support for a few IPA interrupt types. Update "ipa_reg.h" to include information about IPA v5.5. 2023-11-24net: ipa: update IPA version comments in "ipa_reg.h"Alex Elder
Some definitions in "ipa_reg.h" are only valid for certain versions of IPA. In such cases a comment indicates a version or range of versions where the definition is (or is not) valid. Almost all such cases look like "IPA vX.Y", but a few don't include the "IPA" tag. Update these so they all consistently include "IPA". And replace a few lines that talk about "the next bit" in the definition of the ipa_irq_id enumerated type with a more concise comment using the "IPA vX.Y" convention. 2023-03-22net: ipa: add IPA v5.0 register definitionsAlex Elder
Add the definitions of IPA register offsets and fields for IPA v5.0. These are used for the SDX65 SoC. In the Makefile, split IPA_VERSIONS to use IPA_REG_VERSIONS and IPA_DATA_VERSIONS instead, to allow IPA register definitions for a new version to be added separate from the IPA data. Rename GSI_IPA_VERSIONS to be GSI_REG_VERSIONS for consistency. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2023-03-16net: ipa: fix some register validity checksAlex Elder
A recent commit defined HW_PARAM_4 as a GSI register ID but did not add it to gsi_reg_id_valid() to indicate it's valid (for IPA v5.0+). Add version checks for the HW_PARAM_2 and INTER_EE IRQ GSI registers there as well. IPA v5.0 supports up to 8 source and destination resource groups. Update the validity check (and the comments where the register IDs are defined) to reflect that. Similarly update comments and validity checks for the hash/cache-related registers. Note that this patch fixes an omission and constrains things further, but these don't technically represent bugs. 2023-03-16net: ipa: kill FILT_ROUT_CACHE_CFG IPA registerAlex Elder
A recent commit defined a few IPA registers used for IPA v5.0+. One of those was a mistake. Although the filter and router caches get *flushed* using a single register, they use distinct registers (ENDP_FILTER_CACHE_CFG and ENDP_ROUTER_CACHE_CFG) for configuration. And although there *exists* a FILT_ROUT_CACHE_CFG register, it is not needed in upstream code. So get rid of definitions related to FILT_ROUT_CACHE_CFG, because they are not needed. 2023-02-10net: ipa: generalize register field functionsAlex Elder
Rename functions related to register fields so they don't appear to be IPA-specific, and move their definitions into "reg.h": ipa_reg_fmask() -> reg_fmask() ipa_reg_bit() -> reg_bit() ipa_reg_field_max() -> reg_field_max() ipa_reg_encode() -> reg_encode() ipa_reg_decode() -> reg_decode() Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2023-02-10net: ipa: start generalizing "ipa_reg"Alex Elder
IPA register definitions have evolved with each new version. The changes required to support more than 32 endpoints in IPA v5.0 made it best to define a unified mechanism for defining registers and their fields. GSI register definitions, meanwhile, have remained fairly stable. And even as the total number of IPA endpoints goes beyond 32, the number of GSI channels on a given EE that underly endpoints still remains 32 or less. Despite that, GSI v3.0 (which is used with IPA v5.0) extends the number of channels (and events) it supports to be about 256, and as a result, many GSI register definitions must change significantly. To address this, we'll use the same "ipa_reg" mechanism to define the GSI registers. As a first step in generalizing the "ipa_reg" to also support GSI registers, isolate the definitions of the "ipa_reg" and "ipa_regs" structure types (and some supporting macros) into a new header file, and remove the "ipa_" and "IPA_" from symbol names. Separate the IPA register ID validity checking from the generic check that a register ID is in range. Aside from that, this is intended to have no functional effect on the code. 2023-01-31net: ipa: define IPA v5.0+ registersAlex Elder
Define some new registers that appear starting with IPA v5.0, along with enumerated types identifying their fields. Code that uses these will be added by upcoming patches. Most of the new registers are related to filter and routing tables, and in particular, their "hashed" variant. These tables are better described as "cached", where a hash value determines which entries are cached. From now on, naming related to this functionality will use "cache" instead of "hash", and that is reflected in these new register names. Some registers for managing these caches and their contents have changed as well. A few other new field definitions for registers (unrelated to table caches) are also defined. 2022-10-03net: ipa: update commentsAlex Elder
This patch just updates comments throughout the IPA code. Transaction state is now tracked using indexes into an array rather than linked lists, and a few comments refer to the "old way" of doing things. The description of how transactions are used was changed to refer to "operations" rather than "commands", to (hopefully) remove a possible ambiguity. IPA register offsets and fields are now handled differently as well, and the register documentation is updated to better describe the code. A few minor updates to comments were made (e.g., adding a missing word, fixing a typo or punctuation, etc.). Finally, the local macro atomic_dec_not_zero() is no longer used, so it is deleted. Use IPA_REG_FIELDS() to specify the field mask values defined for this register, for each supported version of IPA. Use ipa_reg_bit() to build up the value to be written to this register rather than using the *_FMASK preprocessor symbols. Remove the definition of the *_FMASK symbols, along with the inline functions that were used to encode certain fields whose position and/or width within the register was dependent on IPA version. 2022-09-27net: ipa: introduce ipa_reg field masksAlex Elder
Add register field descriptors to the ipa_reg structure. A field in a register is defined by a field mask, which is a 32-bit mask having a single contiguous range of bits set. For each register that has at least one field defined, an enumerated type will identify the register's fields. The ipa_reg structure for that register will include an array fmask[] of field masks, indexed by that enumerated type. Each field mask defines the position and bit width of a field. An additional "fcount" records how many fields (masks) are defined for a given register. Introduce two macros to be used to define registers that have at least one field. Introduce a few new functions related to field masks. The first simply returns a field mask, given an IPA register pointer and field mask ID. A variant of that is meant to be used for the special case of single-bit field masks. Next, ipa_reg_encode(), identifies a field with an IPA register pointer and a field ID, and takes a value to represent in that field. The result encodes the value in the appropriate place to be stored in the register. This is roughly modeled after the bitmask operations (like u32_encode_bits()). Another function (ipa_reg_decode()) similarly identifies a register field, but the value supplied to it represents a full register value. The value encoded in the field is extracted from the value and returned. This is also roughly modeled after bitmask operations (such as u32_get_bits()). Finally, ipa_reg_field_max() returns the maximum value representable by a field. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2022-09-27net: ipa: introduce ipa_reg()Alex Elder
Create a new function that returns a register descriptor given its ID. Change ipa_reg_offset() and ipa_reg_n_offset() so they take a register descriptor argument rather than an IPA pointer and register ID. Have them accept null pointers (and return an invalid 0 offset), to avoid the need for excessive error checking. (A warning is issued whenever ipa_reg() returns 0). Call ipa_reg() or ipa_reg_n() to look up information about the register before calls to ipa_reg_offset() and ipa_reg_n_offset(). Delay looking up offsets until they're needed to read or write registers. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2022-09-27net: ipa: use ipa_reg[] array for register offsetsAlex Elder
Use the array of register descriptors assigned at initialization time to determine the offset (and where used, stride) for IPA registers. Issue a warning if an offset is requested for a register that's not valid for the current system. Remove all IPE_REG_*_OFFSET macros, as well as inline static functions that returned register offsets. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2022-09-27net: ipa: add per-version IPA register definition filesAlex Elder
Create a new subdirectory "reg", which contains a register definition file for each supported version of IPA. Each register definition contains the register's offset, and for parameterized registers, the stride (distance between consecutive instances of the register). Finally, it includes an all-caps printable register name. In these files, each IPA version defines an array of IPA register definition pointers, with unsupported registers defined with a null pointer. The array is indexed by the ipa_reg_id enumerated type. At initialization time, the appropriate register definition array to use is selected based on the IPA version, and assigned to a new "regs" field in the IPA structure. Extend ipa_reg_valid() so it fails if a valid register is not defined. This patch simply puts this infrastructure in place; the next will use it. 2022-09-27net: ipa: use IPA register IDs to determine offsetsAlex Elder
Expose two inline functions that return the offset for a register whose ID is provided; one of them takes an additional argument that's used for registers that are parameterized. These both use a common helper function __ipa_reg_offset(), which just uses the offset symbols already defined. Replace all references to the offset macros defined for IPA registers with calls to ipa_reg_offset() or ipa_reg_n_offset(). 2022-09-27net: ipa: introduce IPA register IDsAlex Elder
Create a new ipa_reg_id enumerated type, which identifies each IPA register with a symbolic identifier. Use short names, but in some cases (such as "BCR") add "IPA_" to the name to help avoid name conflicts. Create two functions that indicate register validity. The first concisely indicates whether a register is valid for a given version of IPA, and if so, whether it is defined. The second indicates whether a register is valid for TX or RX endpoints. 2022-09-23net: ipa: tidy up register enum definitionsAlex Elder

2022-09-23net: ipa: define BCR values using an enumAlex Elder
The backward compatibility register (BCR) has a set of bit flags that indicate ways in which the IPA hardware should operate in a backward compatible way. The register is not supported starting with IPA v4.5, and where it is supported, defined bits all have the same numeric value. Redefine these flags using an enumerated type, with each member's value representing the bit position that encodes it in the BCR. This replaces all of the single-bit field masks previously defined. 2021-06-03net: ipa: add support for inline checksum offloadAlex Elder
Starting with IPA v4.5, IP payload checksum offload is implemented differently. Prior to v4.5, the IPA hardware appends an rmnet_map_dl_csum_trailer structure to each packet if checksum offload is enabled in the download direction (modem->AP). In the upload direction (AP->modem) a rmnet_map_ul_csum_header structure is prepended before each sent packet. Starting with IPA v4.5, checksum offload is implemented using a single new rmnet_map_v5_csum_header structure which sits between the QMAP header and the packet data. The same header structure is used in both directions. The new header contains a header type (CSUM_OFFLOAD); a checksum flag; and a flag indicating whether any other headers follow this one. The checksum flag indicates whether the hardware should compute (and insert) the checksum on a sent packet. On a received packet the checksum flag indicates whether the hardware confirms the checksum value in the payload is correct. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2021-03-25net: ipa: update IPA register commentsAlex Elder
Add and update IPA register definitions. Extend these definitions to incorporate a fairly small number of new symbols (register offsets and fields) to support IPA v3.0, v3.1, v3.5, v4.0, v4.1, v4.7, 4.9, and v4.11, and have the comments reflect when they are valid. None of the added symbols require changes elsewhere in the code. Update rsrc_grp_encoded() to support these other IPA versions. Add kerneldoc comments for the IPA IRQ numbers and sequencer type. Fix a few spots where the version check should be less restrictive (missed by an earlier patch). Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-03-24net: ipa: move ipa_aggr_granularity_val()Alex Elder
We only use ipa_aggr_granularity_val() inside "ipa_main.c", so it doesn't really need to be defined in a header file. It makes some sense to be grouped with the register definitions, but it is unlike the other inline functions now defined in "ipa_reg.h". So move it into "ipa_main.c" where it's used. TIMER_FREQUENCY is used only by that function, so move that definition as well. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-03-24net: ipa: limit local processing context addressAlex Elder
Not all of the bits of the LOCAL_PKT_PROC_CNTXT register are valid. Until IPA v4.5, there are 17 valid bits (though the bottom three must be zero). Starting with IPA v4.5, 18 bits are valid. Introduce proc_cntxt_base_addr_encoded() to encode the base address for use in the register using only the valid bits. Shorten the name of the register (omit "_BASE") to avoid the need to wrap the line in the one place it's used. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2021-03-24net: ipa: define the ENDP_INIT_NAT registerAlex Elder
Define the ENDP_INIT_NAT register for setting up the NAT configuration for an endpoint. We aren't using NAT at this time, so explicitly set the type to BYPASS for all endpoints. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-03-20net: ipa: sequencer type is for TX endpoints onlyAlex Elder
We only program the sequencer type for TX endpoints. So move the definition of the sequencer type fields into the TX-specific portion of the endpoint configuration data. There's no need to maintain this in the IPA structure; we can extract it from the configuration data it points to in the one spot it's needed. We previously specified the sequencer type for RX endpoints with INVALID values. These are no longer needed, so get rid of them. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2021-03-20net: ipa: split sequencer type in twoAlex Elder
An IPA endpoint has a sequencer that must be configured based on how the endpoint is to be used. Currently the IPA code programs the sequencer type by splitting a value into four 4-bit nibbles. Doing that doesn't really add much value, and regardless, a better way of splitting the sequencer type is into two halves--the lower byte describing how normal packet processing is handled, and the next byte describing information about processing replicas. So split the sequencer type into two sub-parts: the sequencer type and the replication sequencer type. Define the values supported for the "main" sequencer type, and define the values supported for the replication part separately. In addition, the sequencer type names are quite verbose, encoding what the type includes, but also what it *excludes*. Rename the sequencer types in a way that mainly describes the number of passes that a packet takes through the IPA processing pipeline, and how many of those passes end by supplying the processed packet to the microprocessor. The result expands the supported types beyond what is required for now, but simplifies the way these are defined. Signed-off-by: Alex Elder <elder@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S.
