2024-10-08net: sparx5: add is_sparx5 macro and use it throughoutDaniel Machon
We dont want to ops out each time a function needs to do some platform specifics. In particular we have a few places, where it would be convenient to just branch out on the platform type. Add the function is_sparx5() and, initially, use it for: - register writes that should only be done on Sparx5 (QSYS_CAL_CTRL, CLKGEN_LCPLL1_CORE_CLK). - function calls that should only be done on Sparx5 (ethtool_op_get_ts_info()) - register writes that are chip-exclusive (MASK_CFG1/2, PGID_CFG1/2, these are replicated for n_ports >32 on Sparx5). The is_sparx5() function simply checks the target chip type, to determine if this is a Sparx5 SKU or not. 2024-10-08net: sparx5: use SPX5_CONST for constants which already have a symbolDaniel Machon
Now that we have indentified all the chip constants, update the use of them where a symbol is already defined for the constant. Reviewed-by: Steen Hegelund <Steen.Hegelund@microchip.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Machon <daniel.machon@microchip.com> Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com>
2024-10-08net: sparx5: add *sparx5 argument to a few functionsDaniel Machon
The *sparx5 context pointer is required in functions that need to access platform constants (which will be added in a subsequent patch). Prepare for this by updating the prototype and use of such functions. 2024-09-06net: sparx5: Remove setting of RX software timestampGal Pressman
The responsibility for reporting of RX software timestamp has moved to the core layer (see __ethtool_get_ts_info()), remove usage from the device drivers. 2024-07-15net: Add struct kernel_ethtool_ts_infoKory Maincent
In prevision to add new UAPI for hwtstamp we will be limited to the struct ethtool_ts_info that is currently passed in fixed binary format through the ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO ethtool ioctl. It would be good if new kernel code already started operating on an extensible kernel variant of that structure, similar in concept to struct kernel_hwtstamp_config vs struct hwtstamp_config. Since struct ethtool_ts_info is in include/uapi/linux/ethtool.h, here we introduce the kernel-only structure in include/linux/ethtool.h. The manual copy is then made in the function called by ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO. 2023-12-08net: Convert some ethtool_sprintf() to ethtool_puts()justinstitt@google.com
This patch converts some basic cases of ethtool_sprintf() to ethtool_puts(). The conversions are used in cases where ethtool_sprintf() was being used with just two arguments: | ethtool_sprintf(&data, buffer[i].name); or when it's used with format string: "%s" | ethtool_sprintf(&data, "%s", buffer[i].name); which both now become: | ethtool_puts(&data, buffer[i].name); Signed-off-by: Justin Stitt <justinstitt@google.com> Reviewed-by: Wei Fang <wei.fang@nxp.com> Reviewed-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Reviewed-by: Louis Peens <louis.peens@corigine.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2023-10-13net: sparx5: replace deprecated strncpy with ethtool_sprintfJustin Stitt
strncpy() is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings [1] and as such we should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string interfaces. ethtool_sprintf() is designed specifically for get_strings() usage. Let's replace strncpy() in favor of this more robust and easier to understand interface. and sparx5_start() sparx_stats_init() calls create_singlethread_workqueue() and not checked the ret value, which may return NULL. And a null-ptr-deref may happen: sparx_stats_init() create_singlethread_workqueue() # failed, sparx5->stats_queue is NULL queue_delayed_work() queue_delayed_work_on() __queue_delayed_work() # warning here, but continue __queue_work() # access wq->flags, null-ptr-deref Check the ret value and return -ENOMEM if it is NULL.
