2025-05-29net: lan966x: Make sure to insert the vlan tags also in host modeHoratiu Vultur
When running these commands on DUT (and similar at the other end) ip link set dev eth0 up ip link add link eth0 name eth0.10 type vlan id 10 ip addr add 10.0.0.1/24 dev eth0.10 ip link set dev eth0.10 up ping 10.0.0.2 The ping will fail. The reason why is failing is because, the network interfaces for lan966x have a flag saying that the HW can insert the vlan tags into the frames(NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_TX). Meaning that the frames that are transmitted don't have the vlan tag inside the skb data, but they have it inside the skb. We already get that vlan tag and put it in the IFH but the problem is that we don't configure the HW to rewrite the frame when the interface is in host mode. The fix consists in actually configuring the HW to insert the vlan tag if it is different than 0. 2022-11-01net: lan966x: Adjust maximum frame size when vlan is enabled/disabledHoratiu Vultur
When vlan filtering is enabled/disabled, it is required to adjust the maximum received frame size that it can received. When vlan filtering is enabled, it would all to receive extra 4 bytes, that are the vlan tag. So the maximum frame size would be 1522 with a vlan tag. If vlan filtering is disabled then the maximum frame size would be 1518 regardless if there is or not a vlan tag. Fixes: 6d2c186afa5d ("net: lan966x: Add vlan support.") 2022-01-05net: lan966x: Extend switchdev with mdb supportHoratiu Vultur
Extend lan966x driver with mdb support by implementing the switchdev calls: SWITCHDEV_OBJ_ID_PORT_MDB and SWITCHDEV_OBJ_ID_HOST_MDB. It is allowed to add both ipv4/ipv6 entries and l2 entries. To add ipv4/ipv6 entries is not required to use the PGID table while for l2 entries it is required. The PGID table is much smaller than MAC table so only fewer l2 entries can be added.
