2023-03-19ixgb: Remove ixgb driverTony Nguyen
There are likely no users of this driver as the hardware has been discontinued since 2010. Remove the driver and all references to it in documentation. 2021-10-14ethernet: constify references to netdev->dev_addr in driversJakub Kicinski
This big patch sprinkles const on local variables and function arguments which may refer to netdev->dev_addr. Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all the writes to it got through appropriate helpers. Some of the changes here are not strictly required - const is sometimes cast off but pointer is not used for writing. It seems like it's still better to add the const in case the code changes later or relevant -W flags get enabled for the build. No functional changes. 2020-09-25intel: handle unused assignmentsJesse Brandeburg
Remove variables that were storing a return value from a register read or other read, where the return value wasn't used. Those conversions to remove the lvalue of the assignment should be safe because the readl memory mapped reads are marked volatile and should not be optimized out without an lvalue (I suspect a very long time ago this wasn't guaranteed as it is today). These changes are part of a separate patch to make it easier to review. 2018-04-27net: intel: Cleanup the copyright/license headersJeff Kirsher
After many years of having a ~30 line copyright and license header to our source files, we are finally able to reduce that to one line with the advent of the SPDX identifier. Also caught a few files missing the SPDX license identifier, so fixed them up. 2011-09-23ixgb: eliminate checkstack warningsJesse Brandeburg
Really trivial fix, use kmalloc/kfree instead of stack space. use static const instead of const to further reduce stack usage.
