2025-06-17net: dsa: b53: ensure BCM5325 PHYs are enabledÁlvaro Fernández Rojas
According to the datasheet, BCM5325 uses B53_PD_MODE_CTRL_25 register to disable clocking to individual PHYs. Only ports 1-4 can be enabled or disabled and the datasheet is explicit about not toggling BIT(0) since it disables the PLL power and the switch. 2025-06-17net: dsa: b53: add support for FDB operations on 5325/5365Florian Fainelli
BCM5325 and BCM5365 are part of a much older generation of switches which, due to their limited number of ports and VLAN entries (up to 256) allowed a single 64-bit register to hold a full ARL entry. This requires a little bit of massaging when reading, writing and converting ARL entries in both directions. 2025-05-13net: dsa: b53: prevent standalone from trying to forward to other portsJonas Gorski
When bridged ports and standalone ports share a VLAN, e.g. via VLAN uppers, or untagged traffic with a vlan unaware bridge, the ASIC will still try to forward traffic to known FDB entries on standalone ports. But since the port VLAN masks prevent forwarding to bridged ports, this traffic will be dropped. This e.g. can be observed in the bridge_vlan_unaware ping tests, where this breaks pinging with learning on. Work around this by enabling the simplified EAP mode on switches supporting it for standalone ports, which causes the ASIC to redirect traffic of unknown source MAC addresses to the CPU port. Since standalone ports do not learn, there are no known source MAC addresses, so effectively this redirects all incoming traffic to the CPU port. Add support for being able to set the learning attribute on port, and make sure that the standalone ports start up with learning disabled. We can remove the code in bcm_sf2 that configured the ports learning attribute because we want the standalone ports to have learning disabled by default and port 7 cannot be bridged, so its learning attribute will not change past its initial configuration. 2020-04-22net: dsa: b53: Rework ARL bin logicFlorian Fainelli
When asking the ARL to read a MAC address, we will get a number of bins returned in a single read. Out of those bins, there can essentially be 3 states: - all bins are full, we have no space left, and we can either replace an existing address or return that full condition - the MAC address was found, then we need to return its bin index and modify that one, and only that one - the MAC address was not found and we have a least one bin free, we use that bin index location then The code would unfortunately fail on all counts. 2017-04-24net: dsa: b53: Implement software reset for 58xx devicesFlorian Fainelli
Implement the correct software reset sequence for 58xx devices by setting all 3 reset bits and polling for the SW_RST bit to clear itself without a given timeout. We cannot use is58xx() here because that would also include the 7445/7278 Starfighter 2 which have their own driver doing the reset earlier on due to the HW specific integration. 2017-04-24net: dsa: b53: Include IMP/CPU port in dumb forwarding modeFlorian Fainelli
Since Broadcom tags are not enabled in b53 (DSA_PROTO_TAG_NONE), we need to make sure that the IMP/CPU port is included in the forwarding decision. Without this change, switching between non-management ports would work, but not between management ports and non-management ports thus breaking the default state in which DSA switch are brought up. 2016-06-09net: dsa: b53: Add support for Broadcom RoboSwitchFlorian Fainelli
This patch adds support for Broadcom's BCM53xx switch family, also known as RoboSwitch. Some of these switches are ubiquituous, found in home routers, Wi-Fi routers, DSL and cable modem gateways and other networking related products. This drivers adds the library driver (b53_common.c) as well as a few bus glue drivers for MDIO, SPI, Switch Register Access Block (SRAB) and memory-mapped I/O into a SoC's address space (Broadcom BCM63xx/33xx). Basic operations are supported to bring the Layer 1/2 up and running, but not much more at this point, subsequent patches add the remaining features.
