2025-07-09mmc: Remove redundant pm_runtime_mark_last_busy() callsSakari Ailus
pm_runtime_put_autosuspend(), pm_runtime_put_sync_autosuspend(), pm_runtime_autosuspend() and pm_request_autosuspend() now include a call to pm_runtime_mark_last_busy(). Remove the now-reduntant explicit call to pm_runtime_mark_last_busy(). 2025-07-03mmc: sdhci_am654: Workaround for Errata i2312Judith Mendez
Errata i2312 [0] for K3 silicon mentions the maximum obtainable timeout through MMC host controller is 700ms. And for commands taking longer than 700ms, hardware timeout should be disabled and software timeout should be used. The workaround for Errata i2312 can be achieved by adding SDHCI_QUIRK2_DISABLE_HW_TIMEOUT quirk in sdhci_am654. 2025-05-19mmc: sdhci_am654: Add SDHCI_QUIRK2_SUPPRESS_V1P8_ENA quirk to am62 compatibleJudith Mendez
Add a new struct for platform data for the ti,am62-sdhci compatible to apply additional quirks, namely "SDHCI_QUIRK2_SUPPRESS_V1P8_ENA", to host controllers with am62 compatible. Note, the fix was originally introduced by commit 941a7abd4666 ("mmc: sdhci_am654: Add sdhci_am654_start_signal_voltage_switch") but was found to be applied too broadly and had to be reverted. This fixes MMC init failures seen across am62x boards. 2025-02-03Revert "mmc: sdhci_am654: Add sdhci_am654_start_signal_voltage_switch"Josua Mayer
This reverts commit 941a7abd4666912b84ab209396fdb54b0dae685d. This commit uses presence of device-tree properties vmmc-supply and vqmmc-supply for deciding whether to enable a quirk affecting timing of clock and data. The intention was to address issues observed with eMMC and SD on AM62 platforms. This new quirk is however also enabled for AM64 breaking microSD access on the SolidRun HimmingBoard-T which is supported in-tree since v6.11, causing a regression. During boot microSD initialization now fails with the error below: [ 2.008520] mmc1: SDHCI controller on fa00000.mmc [fa00000.mmc] using ADMA 64-bit [ 2.115348] mmc1: error -110 whilst initialising SD card The heuristics for enabling the quirk are clearly not correct as they break at least one but potentially many existing boards. Revert the change and restore original behaviour until a more appropriate method of selecting the quirk is derived. 2024-10-14mmc: Switch back to struct platform_driver::remove()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all platform drivers below drivers/mmc to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. 2024-10-14mmc: sdhci_am654: Add sdhci_am654_start_signal_voltage_switchJudith Mendez
The sdhci_start_signal_voltage_switch function sets V1P8_SIGNAL_ENA by default after switching to 1v8 signaling. V1P8_SIGNAL_ENA determines whether to launch cmd/data on neg edge or pos edge of clock. Due to some eMMC and SD failures seen across am62x platform, do not set V1P8_SIGNAL_ENA by default, only enable the bit for devices that require this bit in order to switch to 1v8 voltage for uhs modes. 2024-09-05mmc: sdhci_am654: Add retry tuningJudith Mendez

2024-04-02mmc: sdhci_am654: Fix ITAPDLY for HS400 timingJudith Mendez
While STRB is currently used for DATA and CRC responses, the CMD responses from the device to the host still require ITAPDLY for HS400 timing. 2024-04-02mmc: sdhci_am654: Add tuning algorithm for delay chainJudith Mendez
Currently the sdhci_am654 driver only supports one tuning algorithm which should be used only when DLL is enabled. The ITAPDLY is selected from the largest passing window and the buffer is not viewed as a circular buffer. This implementation is based off of the following paper: [1]. 2023-08-15mmc: sdhci_am654: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidYangtao Li
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2020-09-28mmc: sdhci_am654: Enable tuning for SDR50Faiz Abbas
According to the SW tuning App note[1], tuning is required for all UHS speed modes. Tuning for SDR50 is not enabled in Capabilities by default so enable it from the CTL_CFG registers. 2020-09-28mmc: sdhci_am654: Add support for software tuningFaiz Abbas
With the new SW tuning App note[1], a custom tuning algorithm is required for eMMC HS200, HS400 and SD card UHS modes. The algorithm involves running through the 32 possible input tap delay values and sending the appropriate tuning command (CMD19/21) for each of them to get a fail or pass result for each of the values. Typically, the range will have a small contiguous failing window. Considering the tuning range as a circular buffer, the algorithm then sets a final tuned value directly opposite to the failing window. 2020-09-28mmc: sdhci_am654: Add support for input tap delayFaiz Abbas
DLL need only be enabled for speed modes and clock frequencies at or above 50 MHz. For speed modes that don't enable the DLL, we need to configure a static input delay value. This involves reading an optional itap-del-sel-* value from the device tree and configuring it for the appropriate speed mode. With this addition, make sure that DLL is always switched off at the beginning of the set_clock() call to simplify configuration. This also removes the need for the dll_on member in struct sdhci_am654_data. 2020-09-07mmc: sdhci_am654: Add workaround for card detect debounce timerFaiz Abbas
There is a one time delay because of a card detect debounce timer in the controller IP. This timer runs as soon as power is applied to the module regardless of whether a card is present or not and any writes to SDHCI_POWER_ON will return 0 before it expires. This timeout has been measured to be about 1 second in am654x and j721e. Write-and-read-back in a loop on SDHCI_POWER_ON for a maximum of 1.5 seconds to make sure that the controller actually powers on.
