2025-06-08treewide, timers: Rename from_timer() to timer_container_of()Ingo Molnar
Move this API to the canonical timer_*() namespace. [ tglx: Redone against pre rc1 ] Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/all/aB2X0jCKQO56WdMt@gmail.com
2025-04-05treewide: Switch/rename to timer_delete[_sync]()Thomas Gleixner
timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree over and remove the historical wrapper inlines. Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@kernel.org>
2024-05-13Input: drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0Uwe Kleine-König
These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice cleanup on its own. While add it, also remove commas after the sentinel entries. 2023-07-07Input: bu21029_ts - use local 'client->dev' variable in probe()Krzysztof Kozlowski
'dev' is shorter and simpler than '&client->dev' and in few cases it allows to skip line wrapping. Probe function uses '&client->dev' a lot, so this improves readability slightly. 2023-07-07Input: bu21029_ts - simplify with dev_err_probe()Krzysztof Kozlowski
Common pattern of handling deferred probe can be simplified with dev_err_probe(). Less code and also it prints the error value. 2023-05-17Input: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2023-01-09Input: bu21029 - switch to DEFINE_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() and pm_sleep_ptr()Jonathan Cameron
SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() is deprecated as it requires explicit protection against unused function warnings. The new combination of pm_sleep_ptr() and DEFINE_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() allows the compiler to see the functions, thus suppressing the warning, but still allowing the unused code to be removed. Thus also drop the __maybe_unused markings. 2022-12-02Input: bu21029_ts - Convert to i2c's .probe_new()Uwe Kleine-König
The probe function doesn't make use of the i2c_device_id * parameter so it can be trivially converted. 2021-03-25Input: move to use request_irq by IRQF_NO_AUTOEN flagBarry Song
disable_irq() after request_irq() still has a time gap in which interrupts can come. request_irq() with IRQF_NO_AUTOEN flag will disable IRQ auto-enable because of requesting. On the other hand, request_irq() after setting IRQ_NOAUTOEN as below irq_set_status_flags(irq, IRQ_NOAUTOEN); request_irq(dev, irq...); can also be replaced by request_irq() with IRQF_NO_AUTOEN flag.
