2025-06-26iio: imu: inv_icm42600: Convert to uXX and sXX integer typesAndy Shevchenko
The driver code is full of intXX_t and uintXX_t types which is not the pattern we use in the IIO subsystem. Switch the driver to use kernel internal types for that. No functional changes. 2025-04-22iio: normalize array sentinel styleDavid Lechner
Use `\t(\{ ?\},|\{\}|\{\s*/\*.*\*/\s*\},?)$` regex to find and replace the array sentinel in all IIO drivers to the same style. For some time, we've been trying to consistently use `{ }` (no trailing comma, no comment, one space between braces) for array sentinels in the IIO subsystem. Still nearly 50% of existing code uses a different style. To save reviewers from having to request this trivial change as frequently, let's normalize the style in all existing IIO drivers. At least when code is copy/pasted to new drivers, the style will be consistent. 2025-04-22iio: imu: inv_icm42600: Switch to sparse friendly ↵Jonathan Cameron
iio_device_claim/release_direct() These new functions allow sparse to find failures to release direct mode reducing chances of bugs over the claim_direct_mode() functions that are deprecated. 2024-12-28iio: imu: inv_icm42600: switch timestamp type from int64_t __aligned(8) to ↵Jonathan Cameron
aligned_s64 The vast majority of IIO drivers use aligned_s64 for the type of the timestamp field. It is not a bug to use int64_t and until this series iio_push_to_buffers_with_timestamp() took and int64_t timestamp, it is inconsistent. This change is to remove that inconsistency and ensure there is one obvious choice for future drivers. 2024-10-29iio: invensense: fix multiple odr switch when FIFO is offJean-Baptiste Maneyrol
When multiple ODR switch happens during FIFO off, the change could not be taken into account if you get back to previous FIFO on value. For example, if you run sensor buffer at 50Hz, stop, change to 200Hz, then back to 50Hz and restart buffer, data will be timestamped at 200Hz. This due to testing against mult and not new_mult. To prevent this, let's just run apply_odr automatically when FIFO is off. It will also simplify driver code. Update inv_mpu6050 and inv_icm42600 to delete now useless apply_odr. 2022-04-10iio: core: Simplify the registration of kfifo buffersMiquel Raynal
Among all the users of the kfifo buffers, no one uses the INDIO_BUFFER_HARDWARE mode. So let's take this as a general rule and simplify a little bit the internals - overall the documentation - by eliminating unused specific cases. Use the INDIO_BUFFER_SOFTWARE mode by default with kfifo buffers, which will basically mimic what all the "non direct" modes do. 2021-03-11iio: make use of devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup() helperAlexandru Ardelean
All drivers that already call devm_iio_kfifo_allocate() & iio_device_attach_buffer() are simple to convert to iio_device_attach_kfifo_buffer() in a single go. This change does that; the unwind order is preserved. What is important, is that the devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup() be called after the indio_dev->modes is assigned, to make sure that INDIO_BUFFER_SOFTWARE flag is set and not overridden by the assignment to indio_dev->modes. Also, the INDIO_BUFFER_SOFTWARE has been removed from the assignments of 'indio_dev->modes' because it is set by devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup(). 2020-06-27iio: imu: inv_icm42600: add accurate timestampingJean-Baptiste Maneyrol
Add a timestamping mechanism for buffer that provides accurate event timestamps when using watermark. This mechanism estimates device internal clock by comparing FIFO interrupts delta time and device elapsed time computed by parsing FIFO data. Take interrupt timestamp in hard irq handler and add IIO device specific timestamp structures in device private allocation.
