2025-04-22iio: normalize array sentinel styleDavid Lechner
Use `\t(\{ ?\},|\{\}|\{\s*/\*.*\*/\s*\},?)$` regex to find and replace the array sentinel in all IIO drivers to the same style. For some time, we've been trying to consistently use `{ }` (no trailing comma, no comment, one space between braces) for array sentinels in the IIO subsystem. Still nearly 50% of existing code uses a different style. To save reviewers from having to request this trivial change as frequently, let's normalize the style in all existing IIO drivers. At least when code is copy/pasted to new drivers, the style will be consistent. 2024-09-30iio: adc: Constify struct iio_mapChristophe JAILLET
'struct iio_map' are not modified in these drivers. Constifying this structure moves some data to a read-only section, so increase overall security. In order to do it, the prototype of iio_map_array_register() and devm_iio_map_array_register(), and a few structures that hold a "struct iio_map *" need to be adjusted. On a x86_64, with allmodconfig, as an example: Before: ====== text data bss dec hex filename 21086 760 0 21846 5556 drivers/iio/adc/axp20x_adc.o After: ===== text data bss dec hex filename 21470 360 0 21830 5546 drivers/iio/adc/axp20x_adc.o 33842 1697 384 35923 8c53 drivers/iio/addac/ad74413r.o -- Compile tested only Signed-off-by: Christophe JAILLET <christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/5729dc3cc3892ecf0d8ea28c5f7307b34e27493e.1725729801.git.christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com>
2024-06-25iio: adc: rn5t618-adc: make use of regmap_set_bits()Trevor Gamblin
Instead of using regmap_update_bits() and passing the mask twice, use regmap_set_bits(). Instead of custom data type re-use generic struct u16_fract. No changes intended. Signed-off-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220126135353.24007-2-andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com>
2021-10-19iio: adc: rn5t618-adc: use devm_iio_map_array_register() functionAlexandru Ardelean
This driver already hooks a similar unwind callback via devm_add_action_or_reset(). They pretty much do the same thing, so this change converts it to the devm_iio_map_array_register(). 2021-08-13iio: adc: rn5t618: Add iio mapAndreas Kemnade
Add iio map to allow power driver to read out values as a consumer. This approach does not block later addition of devicetree support which would be helpful if there is an in-kernel consumer for AIN0/1. 2020-06-14iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment.
