Simplify the function to enable or disable measurement. Replace the
separate decision logic and call to regmap_update_bits() by a single
call to regmap_assign_bits() taking a boolean argument directly.
This is a refactoring change and should not impact functionality.

Introduce enums and functions to work with the sample frequency
adjustments. Let the sample frequency adjust via IIO and configure
a reasonable default.
Replace the old static sample frequency handling. During adjustment of
bw registers, measuring is disabled and afterwards enabled again.

Use regmap cache to replace the maintenance of the interrupt mapping
state by a member variable intio. The interrupt mapping is initialized
when the driver is probed, and it is perfectly cacheable.
The patch will still leave the function set_interrupts(). A follow up
patch takes care of it, when cleaning up the INT enable register
variable.

Reorganize the IRQ handler. Move the overrun handling to the bottom.
Overrun leads to reset the interrupt register. This also happens at
evaluation of a particular interrupt event. First evaluate an event
if possible, then fall back to overrun handling. Additionally simplify
fetching the interrupt status function.
Both is in preparation to build interrupt handling up for the handling
of different detected events, implemented in follow up patches.

Having interrupts events and FIFO available allows to evaluate the
sensor events. Cover the list of interrupt based sensor events. Keep
them in the header file for readability.

Add a basic setup for FIFO with configurable watermark. Add a handler
for watermark interrupt events and extend the channel for the
scan_index needed for the iio channel. The sensor is configurable to use
a FIFO_BYPASSED mode or a FIFO_STREAM mode. For the FIFO_STREAM mode now
a watermark can be configured, or disabled by setting 0. Further features
require a working FIFO setup.

Add the possibility to delay FIFO access when SPI is used. According to
the datasheet this is needed for the adxl345. When initialization
happens over SPI the need for delay is to be signalized, and the delay
will be used.

Add a setup function implementation to the spi module to enable spi-3wire
when specified in the device-tree. If spi-3wire is not specified in the
device-tree, NULL is returned as bus pre-initialization. This behavior
is identical to the i2c initialization, hence the default initialization.

Provide a way for bus specific pre-configuration by adding a function
pointer argument to the driver core's probe() function, and keep
the driver core implementation bus independent.
In case NULL was passed, a regmap_write() shall initialize all bits of
the data_format register, else regmap_update() is used. In this way
spi and i2c are covered.

Simplify adxl345_read_raw() by adding uscale variable to
struct adxl345_chip_info. Also convert variables adxl3{4,7}5_uscale to
macros and use it in OF/ACPI/ID match table.
Drop enum adxl345_device_type as there is no user.

Convert enum->pointer for data in match data table, so that
device_get_match_data() can do match against OF/ACPI/I2C tables, once i2c
bus type match support added to it.
Add struct adxl345_chip_info and replace enum->adxl345_chip_info in the
match table and simplify adxl345_probe().

This driver has two parts, one for i2c and one for spi, since the chip can
operate with both wire protocols.
The core file has a common adxl345_core_remove() function which puts the
chip into a powerdown state. This can be implemented with a
devm_add_action_or_reset() hook.
Doing that means we can register the IIO device with
devm_iio_device_register() and get rid of the adxl345_core_remove()
function.
The dev_set_drvdata() call can be removed as there is no other user of this
private data anymore.

The ADXL375 is fully register map compatible to the ADXL345 (including the
device ID register returning the same value ...).
The only difference is the resolution of the acceleration sensor. The
ADXL375 can measure up to +-200g of acceleration.
