2024-08-14docs: uapi: media: Document Mediatek 10bit tiled formatsNicolas Dufresne
Document V4L2_PIX_FMT_MT2110T and V4L2_PIX_FMT_MT2110R. These two formats are nearly identical, reusing MM21 format and expending it by inserting chunk of 16 bytes of lower 2 bit pixel data after each chunk of 64 bytes higher 8 bit of data. Add HEXTILE compressed format which is defined in Remote Framebuffer Protocol (RFC 6143, chapter 7.7.4 Hextile Encoding) and is used by Encoding Compression Engine (ECE) present on Nuvoton NPCM SoCs. 2022-11-04media: v4l: Add definition for the Aspeed JPEG formatJammy Huang
This introduces support for the Aspeed JPEG format, where the new frame can refer to previous frame to reduce the amount of compressed data. The concept is similar to I/P frame of video compression. It will compare the new frame with previous one to decide which macroblock's data is changed, and only the changed macroblocks will be compressed. This Aspeed JPEG format is used by the video engine on Aspeed platforms, which is generally adapted for remote KVM. 2022-02-23doc: media: Document MM21 tiled formatNicolas Dufresne
MM21 has been documented through two software implementation [0] in libyuv and [2] GStreamer. This format is similar to other tiled format, though it uses uneven tile sizes. The luma tiles are 16x32 while the chroma tile have a subsampled size of 16x16. This is the uncompressed cousin of V4L2_PIX_FMT_MT21C and shares its tiling pattern and alignment. Most of the driver-specific documentation is meant to help users of the media subsystem. Move them to the admin-guide. 2020-04-14media: docs: move uAPI book to userspace-api/mediaMauro Carvalho Chehab
Since 2017, there is an space reserved for userspace API, created by changeset 1d596dee3862 ("docs: Create a user-space API guide"). As the media subsystem was one of the first subsystems to use Sphinx, until this patch, we were keeping things on a separate place. Let's just use the new location, as having all uAPI altogether will likely make things easier for developers. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
