2025-05-21hinic3: module initialization and tx/rx logicFan Gong
This is [1/3] part of hinic3 Ethernet driver initial submission. With this patch hinic3 is a valid kernel module but non-functional driver. The driver parts contained in this patch: Module initialization. PCI driver registration but with empty id_table. Auxiliary driver registration. Net device_ops registration but open/stop are empty stubs. tx/rx logic. All major data structures of the driver are fully introduced with the code that uses them but without their initialization code that requires management interface with the hw. 2025-04-28net: ti: icssg-prueth: Add ICSSG FW StatsMD Danish Anwar
The ICSSG firmware maintains set of stats called PA_STATS. Currently the driver only dumps 4 stats. Add support for dumping more stats. The offset for different stats are defined as MACROs in icssg_switch_map.h file. All the offsets are for Slice0. Slice1 offsets are slice0 + 4. The offset calculation is taken care while reading the stats in emac_update_hardware_stats(). The statistics are documented in Documentation/networking/device_drivers/icssg_prueth.rst Reviewed-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: MD Danish Anwar <danishanwar@ti.com> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20250424095316.2643573-1-danishanwar@ti.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>

2024-09-10eth: fbnic: Add devlink firmware version infoLee Trager
This adds support to show firmware version information for both stored and running firmware versions. The version and commit is displayed separately to aid monitoring tools which only care about the version. 2023-09-13idpf: add SRIOV support and other ndo_opsJoshua Hay
Add support for SRIOV: send the requested number of VFs to the device Control Plane, via the virtchnl message and then enable the VFs using 'pci_enable_sriov'. Add other ndo ops supported by the driver such as features_check, set_rx_mode, validate_addr, set_mac_address, change_mtu, get_stats64, set_features, and tx_timeout. Initialize the statistics task which requests the queue related statistics to the CP. Add loopback and promiscuous mode support and the respective virtchnl messages. Finally, add documentation and build support for the driver. 2022-07-05eth: remove neterion/vxgeJakub Kicinski
The last meaningful change to this driver was made by Jon in 2011. As much as we'd like to believe that this is because the code is perfect the chances are nobody is using this hardware. Because of the size of this driver there is a nontrivial maintenance cost to keeping this code around, in the last 2 years we're averaging more than 1 change a month. Some of which require nontrivial review effort, see commit 877fe9d49b74 ("Revert "drivers/net/ethernet/neterion/vxge: Fix a use-after-free bug in vxge-main.c"") for example. Let's try to remove this driver. In general, IMHO, we need to establish a clear path for shedding dead code. It will be hard to unless we have some experience trying to delete stuff. 2022-05-23eth: de4x5: remove support for Generic DECchip & DIGITAL EtherWORKS PCI/EISAJakub Kicinski
Looks like almost all changes to this driver had been tree-wide refactoring since git era begun. There is one commit from Al 15 years ago which could potentially be fixing a real bug. The driver is using virt_to_bus() and is a real magnet for pointless cleanups. It seems unlikely to have real users. Let's try to shed this maintenance burden. 2020-06-26docs: networking: reorganize driver documentation againJakub Kicinski
Organize driver documentation by device type. Most documents have fairly verbose yet uninformative names, so let users first select a well defined device type, and then search for a particular driver. While at it rename the section from Vendor drivers to Hardware drivers. This seems more accurate, besides people sometimes refer to out-of-tree drivers as vendor drivers.
