Scanning all PMUs is expensive as all PMUs sysfs entries are loaded,
benchmarking shows more than 4x the cost:
```
$ perf bench internals pmu-scan -i 1000
Computing performance of sysfs PMU event scan for 1000 times
Average core PMU scanning took: 989.231 usec (+- 1.535 usec)
Average PMU scanning took: 4309.425 usec (+- 74.322 usec)
```
Add new perf_pmus__scan_core routine that scans just core
PMUs. Replace perf_pmus__scan calls with perf_pmus__scan_core when
non-core PMUs are being ignored.

Separate and hide the pmus list in pmus.[ch]. Move pmus functionality
out of pmu.[ch] into pmus.[ch] renaming pmus functions which were
prefixed perf_pmu__ to perf_pmus__.

To support the cputype argument added to "perf stat" for hybrid it is
necessary to filter events during wildcard matching. Add a scanner
argument for the filter and checking it when wildcard matching.

The event parser needs to handle two special cases:
1) legacy events like L1-dcache-load-miss. These event names don't
appear in JSON or sysfs, and lookup tables are used for the config
value.
2) raw events where 'r0xead' is the same as 'read' unless the PMU has
an event called 'read' in which case the event has priority.
The previous parser to handle these cases would scan all PMUs for
components of event names. These components would then be used to
classify in the lexer whether the token should be part of a legacy
event, a raw event or an event. The grammar would handle legacy event
tokens or recombining the tokens back into a regular event name. The
code wasn't PMU specific and had issues around events like AMD's
branch-brs that would fail to parse as it expects brs to be a suffix
on a legacy event style name:

This change removes processing all PMUs by using the lexer in the form
of a regular expression matcher. The lexer will return the token for
the longest matched sequence of characters, and in the event of a tie
the first. The legacy events are a fixed number of regular
expressions, and by matching these before a name token its possible to
generate an accurate legacy event token with everything else matching
as a name. Because of the lexer change the handling of hyphens in the
grammar can be removed as hyphens just become a part of the name.
To handle raw events and terms the parser is changed to defer trying
to evaluate whether something is a raw event until the PMU is known in
the grammar. Once the PMU is known, the events of the PMU can be
scanned for the 'read' style problem. A new term type is added for
these raw terms, used to enable deferring the evaluation.
While this change is large, it has stats of:
170 insertions(+), 436 deletions(-)
the bulk of the change is deleting the old approach. It isn't possible
to break apart the code added due to the dependencies on how the parts
of the parsing work.

This makes the logic a bit clear by avoiding the !strcmp() pattern and
also a way to intercept the pointer if we need to do extra validation on
it or to do lazy setting of evsel->name via evsel__name(evsel).

Use if an event is reordered or the number of groups increases to
signal that regrouping has happened and warn about it. Disable the
warning in the case wild card PMU names are used and for metrics.

Bugs with double aggregation have been introduced because of
aggregation of counters and again with saved_value. Remove the generic
metric use-case. Update parse-metric and pmu-events tests to update
aggregate rather than saved_value counts.

Thresholds may need additional events, this can impact things like
sharing groups of events to avoid multiplexing. Add a flag to make the
threshold calculations optional. The threshold will still be computed
if no additional events are necessary.

Switch to a more natural bool rather than string encoding, where NULL
implicitly meant false. The only value of 'PerPkg' in the event json

The #slots literal will return NAN when not on ARM64 which causes a
perf test failure when not on an ARM64 for a JEVENTS_ARCH=all build:

Turn a perf json event into an event, metric or both. This reduces the
number of events needed to scan to find an event or metric. As events
no longer need the relatively seldom used metric fields, 4 bytes is
saved per event. This reduces the big C string's size by 335kb (14.8%)
on x86.
Note, for the test PMU architecture pme_test_soc_cpu is renamed
pmu_events__test_soc_cpu for consistency with the event vs metric
naming convention.

Add a metrics table that is just a cast from pmu_events_table. This
changes the APIs so that event and metric usage of the underlying
table is different. For the no jevents case the tables are already
separate, later changes will separate the tables for the jevents case.

Previous changes separated the uses of pmu_event and pmu_metric,
however, both structures contained all the variables of event and
metric. This change removes the event variables from metric and the
metric variables from event.
Note, this change removes the setting of evsel's metric_name/expr as
these fields are no longer part of struct pmu_event. The metric
remains but is no longer implicitly requested when the event is. This
impacts a few Intel uncore events, however, as the ScaleUnit is shared
by the event and the metric this utility is questionable. Also the
MetricNames look broken (contain spaces) in some cases and when trying
to use the functionality with '-e' the metrics fail but regular
metrics with '-M' work. For example, on SkylakeX '-M' works:

The code also carries warnings where the user is supposed to select

Create a new pmu_metric for the metric related variables from pmu_event
but that is initially just a clone of pmu_event. Add iterators for
pmu_metric and use in places that metrics are desired rather than
events. Make the event iterator skip metric only events, and the metric
iterator skip event only events.

We test metrics with fake events with fake values. The fake values may
yield division by zero and so we count both up and down to try to
avoid this. Unfortunately this isn't sufficient for some metrics and
so don't fail the test for them.
Add the metric name to debug output.

hashmap.h comes from libbpf but isn't installed with its
headers. Always use the header file of the code in util. Change the
hashmap.h dependency in expr.h to a forward declaration, add the
necessary header file includes in the C files.

An update for libbpf's hashmap interface from void* -> void* to a
polymorphic one, allowing both long and void* keys and values.
This simplifies many use cases in libbpf as hashmaps there are mostly
integer to integer.
Perf copies hashmap implementation from libbpf and has to be
updated as well.
Changes to libbpf, selftests/bpf and perf are packed as a single
commit to avoid compilation issues with any future bisect.
Polymorphic interface is acheived by hiding hashmap interface
functions behind auxiliary macros that take care of necessary
type casts, for example:

The perf_stat_config.aggr_map should have a correct size of the
aggregation map. Use it to allocate aggr_counts.
Also AGGR_NONE with per-core events can be tricky because it doesn't
aggreate basically but it needs to do so for per-core events only.
So only per-core evsels will have stats->aggr data.
Note that other caller of evlist__alloc_stat() might not have
stat_config or aggr_map.

The current code assumes that a struct pmu_event can be iterated over
forward until a NULL pmu_event is encountered.
This makes it difficult to refactor pmu_event.
Add a loop function taking a callback function that's passed the struct
pmu_event.
This way the pmu_event is only needed for one element and not an entire
array.
Switch existing code iterating over the pmu_event arrays to use the new
loop function pmu_events_table_for_each_event.

The simple metric resolution doesn't handle recursion properly, switch
to use the full resolution as with the parse-metric tests which also
increases coverage. Don't set the values for the metric backward as
failures to generate a result are ignored.

Preparation for hiding pmu_events_map as an implementation detail. While
the map is passed, the table of events is all that is normally wanted.
While modifying the function's types, rename pmu_events_map__find to
pmu_events_table__find to match later encapsulation. Similarly rename
pmu_add_cpu_aliases_map to pmu_add_cpu_aliases_table.

all architectures. This simplifies testing. To identify the table for an

Icelake has a slots event, on my Skylakex I have CPU events in sysfs of
topdown-slots-issued and topdown-total-slots.
Legacy event parsing would try to use '-' to separate parts of an event
and so perf_pmu__parse_init sets 'slots' to be a
PMU_EVENT_SYMBOL_SUFFIX2.
As such parsing the slots event for a fake PMU fails as a
PMU_EVENT_SYMBOL_SUFFIX2 isn't made into the PE_PMU_EVENT_FAKE token.
Resolve this issue by test initializing the PMU parsing state before
every parse. This must be done every parse as the state is removes after
each parse_events.

The match_field function looks for json values to append to the event
string. As the C code processes these in order the output order matches
that in the json dictionary. Python json readers read the entire
dictionary and lose the ordering. To make the python and C output
comparable make the C code first read the extra fields then append them
to the event in an order not determined by their order in the file.
Modify the pmu-events test so that test expectations match the new
order.

Append the PMU information from "Unit" to the description later. This
avoids a problem when "Unit" appears early in a json event and the
information prepends the description rather than being the expected
suffix.
Update the pmu-events test so that expectations now match the improved
output.

When testing metric expressions we fake counter values from 1 going
upward. For some metrics this can yield negative values that are clipped
to zero, and then cause divide by zero failures.
Such clipping is questionable but may be a result of tools automatically
generating metrics. A workaround for this case is to try a second time
with counter values going in the opposite direction.
This case was seen in a metric like:
event1 / max(event2 - event3, 0)
But it may also happen in more sensible metrics like:
event1 / (event2 + event3 - 1 - event4)

Add a test for aliases with hyphens in the name to ensure that the

Rather than export test functions, export the test struct. Rename with a
suite__ prefix to avoid name collisions.

parse_events() may succeed but leave string memory allocations reachable
in the error.
Add an init/exit that must be called to initialize and clean up the
error. This fixes a leak in metricgroup parse_ids.

For a metric like IPC a group of events like {instructions,cycles}:W
would be formed.
If the events names were changed in parsing then the metric expression
parser would fail to find them.
This change makes the event encoding be something like:
{instructions/metric-id=instructions/, cycles/metric-id=cycles/}
and then uses the evsel's stable metric-id value to locate the events.
This fixes the case that an event is restricted to user because of the
paranoia setting:
$ echo 2 > /proc/sys/kernel/perf_event_paranoid
$ perf stat -M IPC /bin/true
Performance counter stats for '/bin/true':
150,298 inst_retired.any:u # 0.77 IPC
187,095 cpu_clk_unhalted.thread:u

Adding the metric-id as a qualifier has a complication in that
qualifiers will become embedded in qualifiers.
For example, msr/tsc/ could become msr/tsc,metric-id=msr/tsc// which
will fail parse-events.
To solve this problem the metric is encoded and decoded for the
metric-id with !<num> standing in for an encoded value.
Previously ! wasn't parsed.
With this msr/tsc/ becomes msr/tsc,metric-id=msr!3tsc!3/
The metric expression parser is changed so that @ isn't changed to /,
instead this is done when the ID is encoded for parse events.
metricgroup__add_metric_non_group() and metricgroup__add_metric_weak_group()
need to inject the metric-id qualifier, so to avoid repetition they are
merged into a single metricgroup__build_event_string with error codes
more rigorously checked.
stat-shadow's prepare_metric() uses the metric-id to match the metricgroup
code.
As "metric-id=..." is added to all events, it is adding during testing
with the fake PMU.
This complicates pmu_str_check code as PE_PMU_EVENT_FAKE won't match as
part of a configuration.
The testing fake PMU case is fixed so that if a known qualifier with an
! is parsed then it isn't reported as a fake PMU.
This is sufficient to pass all testing but it and the original mechanism
are somewhat brittle.

The runtime value is needed when recursively parsing metrics, currently
a value of 1 is passed which is incorrect.
Rather than add more arguments to the bison parser, add runtime to the
context.
Fix call sites not to pass a value. The runtime value is defaulted to 0,
which is arbitrary. In some places this replaces a value of 1, which was
also arbitrary.
This shouldn't affect anything other than PPC.
The use of 0 or 1 shouldn't matter as a proper runtime value would be
needed in a case that it did matter.

The pmu_events_map is generated at compile time and used for lookup. For
testing purposes we need to swap the map being used.
Having the pmu_events_map be non-const is misleading as it may be an out
argument.
Make it const and update uses so they work on const too.

A later change to parsing the ids out (in expr__find_other) will
potentially drop hashmaps and so it is more convenient to move
expr_parse_ctx to have a hashmap pointer rather than a struct value.
As this pointer must be freed, rather than just going out of scope, add
expr__ctx_new and expr__ctx_free to manage expr_parse_ctx memory.
Adjust use of struct expr_parse_ctx accordingly.

Function compare_pmu_events() does not compare all struct pmu-events
members, so add tests for missing members "name", "event", "aggr_mod",
"event", "metric_constraint", and "metric_group", and re-order the tests
to match current struct pmu-events member ordering.
Also fix uncore_hisi_l3c_rd_hit_cpipe.event member, now that we're
actually testing it.
