Donet Tom fixes a few things in our selftests code

initialization code into a common arch-neutral implementation
- "mm: remove zpool" from Johannes Weiner removes zspool - an
indirection layer which now only redirects to a single thing

- "mm: task_stack: Stack handling cleanups" from Pasha Tatashin makes a
couple of cleanups in the fork code
- "mm: remove nth_page()" from David Hildenbrand makes rather a lot of
adjustments at various nth_page() callsites, eventually permitting
the removal of that undesirable helper function
- "introduce kasan.write_only option in hw-tags" from Yeoreum Yun
creates a KASAN read-only mode for ARM, using that architecture's
memory tagging feature. It is felt that a read-only mode KASAN is
suitable for use in production systems rather than debug-only
- "mm: hugetlb: cleanup hugetlb folio allocation" from Kefeng Wang does
some tidying in the hugetlb folio allocation code
- "mm: establish const-correctness for pointer parameters" from Max
Kellermann makes quite a number of the MM API functions more accurate
about the constness of their arguments. This was getting in the way
of subsystems (in this case CEPH) when they attempt to improving
their own const/non-const accuracy
- "Cleanup free_pages() misuse" from Vishal Moola fixes a number of
code sites which were confused over when to use free_pages() vs
__free_pages()
- "Add Rust abstraction for Maple Trees" from Alice Ryhl makes the
mapletree code accessible to Rust. Required by nouveau and by its
forthcoming successor: the new Rust Nova driver
- "selftests/mm: split_huge_page_test: split_pte_mapped_thp
improvements" from David Hildenbrand adds a fix and some cleanups to
the thp selftesting code
- "mm, swap: introduce swap table as swap cache (phase I)" from Chris
Li and Kairui Song is the first step along the path to implementing
"swap tables" - a new approach to swap allocation and state tracking
which is expected to yield speed and space improvements. This
patchset itself yields a 5-20% performance benefit in some situations
- "Some ptdesc cleanups" from Matthew Wilcox utilizes the new memdesc
layer to clean up the ptdesc code a little
- "Fix va_high_addr_switch.sh test failure" from Chunyu Hu fixes some
issues in our 5-level pagetable selftesting code
- "Minor fixes for memory allocation profiling" from Suren Baghdasaryan
addresses a couple of minor issues in relatively new memory
allocation profiling feature

Quanmin Yan makes some changes to DAMON in furtherance of supporting
arm highmem

Anjum adds that compiler check to selftests code and fixes the
fallout, by removing dead code
- "Improvements to Victim Process Thawing and OOM Reaper Traversal

killer: mainly thawing a more appropriate group of victim threads so
they can release resources

is a bunch of small and unrelated fixups for DAMON
- "mm/damon: define and use DAMON initialization check function" from
SeongJae Park implement reliability and maintainability improvements
to a recently-added bug fix
- "mm/damon/stat: expose auto-tuned intervals and non-idle ages" from
SeongJae Park provides additional transparency to userspace clients
of the DAMON_STAT information
- "Expand scope of khugepaged anonymous collapse" from Dev Jain removes
some constraints on khubepaged's collapsing of anon VMAs. It also
increases the success rate of MADV_COLLAPSE against an anon vma
- "mm: do not assume file == vma->vm_file in compat_vma_mmap_prepare()"
from Lorenzo Stoakes moves us further towards removal of
file_operations.mmap(). This patchset concentrates upon clearing up
the treatment of stacked filesystems
- "mm: Improve mlock tracking for large folios" from Kiryl Shutsemau
provides some fixes and improvements to mlock's tracking of large
folios. /proc/meminfo's "Mlocked" field became more accurate
- "mm/ksm: Fix incorrect accounting of KSM counters during fork" from
Donet Tom fixes several user-visible KSM stats inaccuracies across
forks and adds selftest code to verify these counters
- "mm_slot: fix the usage of mm_slot_entry" from Wei Yang addresses
some potential but presently benign issues in KSM's mm_slot handling

Add a test module to verify memory alignment guarantees for Rust kernel
allocators. The tests cover `Kmalloc`, `Vmalloc` and `KVmalloc`
allocators with both standard and large page-aligned allocations.
Key features of the tests:
1. Creates alignment-constrained types:
- 128-byte aligned `Blob`
- 8192-byte (4-page) aligned `LargeAlignBlob`
2. Validates allocators using `TestAlign` helper which:
- Checks address alignment masks
- Supports uninitialized allocations
3. Tests all three allocators with both alignment requirements:
- Kmalloc with 128B and 8192B
- Vmalloc with 128B and 8192B
- KVmalloc with 128B and 8192B

Add support for large (> PAGE_SIZE) alignments in Rust allocators. All
the preparations on the C side are already done, we just need to add
bindings for <alloc>_node_align() functions and start using those.

Add a new type to support specifying NUMA identifiers in Rust allocators
and extend the allocators to have NUMA id as a parameter. Thus, modify
ReallocFunc to use the new extended realloc primitives from the C side of
the kernel (i.e. k[v]realloc_node_align/vrealloc_node_align) and add the
new function alloc_node to the Allocator trait while keeping the existing
one (alloc) for backward compatibility.
This will allow to specify node to use for allocation of e. g. {KV}Box,
as well as for future NUMA aware users of the API.

Introduce the VmallocPageIter type; an instance of VmallocPageIter may
be exposed by owners of vmalloc allocations to provide borrowed access
to its backing pages.
For instance, this is useful to access and borrow the backing pages of
allocation primitives, such as Box and Vec, backing a scatterlist.

Given we do not have tests that rely on it anymore, remove
`allocator_test`, which simplifies the complexity of the build.
In particular, it avoids potential issues with `rusttest`, such as the
one fixed at [1], where a public function was added to `Kmalloc` and
used elsewhere, but it was not added to `Cmalloc`; or trivial issues
like a missing import [2] due to not many people testing that target.
The only downside is that we cannot use it in the `macros`' crate
examples anymore, but we did not feel a need for that so far, and anyway
we could support that by running those within the kernel too, which we
may do regardless.

Add a new constructor to Box to facilitate Box creation from a pinned
slice of elements. This allows to efficiently allocate memory for e.g.
slices of structrures containing spinlocks or mutexes. Such slices may
be used in kmemcache like or zpool API implementations.

Commit fde578c86281 ("rust: alloc: replace aligned_size() with
Kmalloc::aligned_layout()") provides a public `aligned_layout` function
in `Kamlloc`, but not in `Cmalloc`, and thus uses of it will trigger an
error in `rusttest`.

When converting a Box<T> into a void pointer, the allocator might
guarantee a higher alignment than the type itself does, and in that case
it is guaranteed that the void pointer has that higher alignment.
This is quite useful when combined with the XArray, which you can only
create using a ForeignOwnable whose FOREIGN_ALIGN is at least 4. This
means that you can now always use a Box<T> with the XArray no matter the
alignment of T.

The kernel's allocators sometimes provide a higher alignment than the
end-user requested, so add a new constant on the Allocator trait to let
the allocator specify what its minimum guaranteed alignment is.
This allows the ForeignOwnable trait to provide a more accurate value of
FOREIGN_ALIGN when using a pointer type such as Box, which will be
useful with certain collections such as XArray that store its own data
in the low bits of pointers.

aligned_size() dates back to when Rust did support kmalloc() only, but
is now used in ReallocFunc::call() and hence for all allocators.
However, the additional padding applied by aligned_size() is only
required by the kmalloc() allocator backend.
Hence, replace aligned_size() with Kmalloc::aligned_layout() and use it
for the affected allocators, i.e. kmalloc() and kvmalloc(), only.
While at it, make Kmalloc::aligned_layout() public, such that Rust
abstractions, which have to call subsystem specific kmalloc() based
allocation primitives directly, can make use of it.

The current implementation of `ForeignOwnable` is leaking the type of the
opaque pointer to consumers of the API. This allows consumers of the opaque
pointer to rely on the information that can be extracted from the pointer
type.
To prevent this, change the API to the version suggested by Maira
Canal (link below): Remove `ForeignOwnable::PointedTo` in favor of a
constant, which specifies the alignment of the pointers returned by
`into_foreign`.
With this change, `ArcInner` no longer needs `pub` visibility, so change it
to private.

In Rust 1.51.0, Clippy introduced the `ptr_as_ptr` lint [1]:
> Though `as` casts between raw pointers are not terrible,
> `pointer::cast` is safer because it cannot accidentally change the
> pointer's mutability, nor cast the pointer to other types like `usize`.
There are a few classes of changes required:
- Modules generated by bindgen are marked
`#[allow(clippy::ptr_as_ptr)]`.
- Inferred casts (` as _`) are replaced with `.cast()`.
- Ascribed casts (` as *... T`) are replaced with `.cast::<T>()`.
- Multistep casts from references (` as *const _ as *const T`) are
replaced with `core::ptr::from_ref(&x).cast()` with or without `::<T>`
according to the previous rules. The `core::ptr::from_ref` call is
required because `(x as *const _).cast::<T>()` results in inference
failure.
- Native literal C strings are replaced with `c_str!().as_char_ptr()`.
- `*mut *mut T as _` is replaced with `let *mut *const T = (*mut *mut
T)`.cast();` since pointer to pointer can be confusing.
Apply these changes and enable the lint -- no functional change
intended.

The implementation of Default is restricted to only work with kmalloc
vectors for no good reason. This means I have to use
mem::replace(&mut my_vec, KVVec::new())
in Rust Binder instead of `mem::take(&mut my_vec)`. Thus, expand the
impl of Default to work with any allocator including kvmalloc.

Pull XArray updates from Andreas Hindborg:
"Introduce Rust support for the 'xarray' data structure:
- Add a Rust abstraction for the 'xarray' data structure. This
abstraction allows Rust code to leverage the 'xarray' to store
types that implement 'ForeignOwnable'. This support is a dependency
for memory backing feature of the Rust null block driver, which is
waiting to be merged.
- Set up an entry in MAINTAINERS for the XArray Rust support. Patches
will go to the new Rust XArray tree and then via the Rust subsystem
tree for now.
'kernel' crate:
- Allow 'ForeignOwnable' to carry information about the pointed-to
type. This helps asserting alignment requirements for the pointer
passed to the foreign language."

Some comments in Rust files use raw URLs (http://example.com) rather
than Markdown autolinks <URL>. This inconsistency makes the
documentation less uniform and harder to maintain.
This patch converts all remaining raw URLs in Rust code comments to use
the Markdown autolink format, maintaining consistency with the rest of
the codebase which already uses this style.

This adds a variant of Vec::insert that does not allocate memory. This
makes it safe to use this function while holding a spinlock. Rust Binder
uses it for the range allocator fast path.

This is needed by Rust Binder in the range allocator, and by upcoming
GPU drivers during firmware initialization.
Panics in the kernel are best avoided when possible, so an error is
returned if the index is out of bounds. An error type is used rather
than just returning Option<T> to let callers handle errors with ?.

This adds a common Vec method called `retain` that removes all elements
that don't match a certain condition. Rust Binder uses it to find all
processes that match a given pid.
The stdlib retain method takes &T rather than &mut T and has a separate
retain_mut for the &mut T case. However, this is considered an API
mistake that can't be fixed now due to backwards compatibility. There's
no reason for us to repeat that mistake.

This is like the stdlib method drain, except that it's hard-coded to use
the entire vector's range. Rust Binder uses it in the range allocator to
take ownership of everything in a vector in a case where reusing the
vector is desirable.
Implementing `DrainAll` in terms of `slice::IterMut` lets us reuse some
nice optimizations in core for the case where T is a ZST.

This introduces a new method called `push_within_capacity` for appending
to a vector without attempting to allocate if the capacity is full. Rust
Binder will use this in various places to safely push to a vector while
holding a spinlock.
The implementation is moved to a push_within_capacity_unchecked method.
This is preferred over having push() call push_within_capacity()
followed by an unwrap_unchecked() for simpler unsafe.
Panics in the kernel are best avoided when possible, so an error is
returned if the vector does not have sufficient capacity. An error type
is used rather than just returning Result<(),T> to make it more
convenient for callers (i.e. they can use ? or unwrap).

Allow implementors to specify the foreign pointer type; this exposes
information about the pointed-to type such as its alignment.
This requires the trait to be `unsafe` since it is now possible for
implementors to break soundness by returning a misaligned pointer.
Encoding the pointer type in the trait (and avoiding pointer casts)
allows the compiler to check that implementors return the correct
pointer type. This is preferable to directly encoding the alignment in
the trait using a constant as the compiler would be unable to check it.

Rename `set_len` to `inc_len` and simplify its safety contract.
Note that the usage in `CString::try_from_fmt` remains correct as the
receiver is known to have `len == 0`.

Add `Vec::dec_len` that reduces the length of the receiver. This method
is intended to be used from methods that remove elements from `Vec` such
as `truncate`, `pop`, `remove`, and others. This method is intentionally
not `pub`.

Document the invariant that the vector's length is always less than or
equal to its capacity. This is already implied by these other
invariants:
- `self.len` always represents the exact number of elements stored in
the vector.
- `self.layout` represents the absolute number of elements that can be
stored within the vector without re-allocation.
but it doesn't hurt to spell it out. Note that the language references
`self.capacity` rather than `self.layout.len` as the latter is zero for
a vector of ZSTs.
Update a safety comment touched by this patch to correctly reference
`realloc` rather than `alloc` and replace "leaves" with "leave" to
improve grammar.
