2024-09-27bcachefs: fix the memory leak in exception caseHongbo Li
The pointer clean points the memory allocated by kmemdup, when the return value of bch2_sb_clean_validate_late is not zero. The memory pointed by clean is leaked. So we should free it in this case. 2024-09-21bcachefs: return err ptr instead of null in read sb cleanDiogo Jahchan Koike
syzbot reported a null-ptr-deref in bch2_fs_start. [0] When a sb is marked clear but doesn't have a clean section bch2_read_superblock_clean returns NULL which PTR_ERR_OR_ZERO lets through, eventually leading to a null ptr dereference down the line. Adjust read sb clean to return an ERR_PTR indicating the invalid clean section. 2024-07-14bcachefs: Kill writing old accounting to journalKent Overstreet
More ripping out of the old disk space accounting. Note that the new disk space accounting is incompatible with the old, and writing out old style disk space accounting with the new code is infeasible. This means upgrading and downgrading past this version requires regenerating accounting. Signed-off-by: Kent Overstreet <kent.overstreet@linux.dev>
2024-07-14bcachefs: dev_usage updated by new accountingKent Overstreet
Reading disk accounting now requires an eytzinger lookup (see: bch2_accounting_mem_read()), but the per-device counters are used frequently enough that we'd like to still be able to read them with just a percpu sum, as in the old code. This patch special cases the device counters; when we update in-memory accounting we also update the old style percpu counters if it's a deice counter update. 2024-05-08bcachefs: bch_member.last_journal_bucketKent Overstreet
On recovery from clean shutdown we don't typically read the journal, but we still want to avoid overwriting existing entries in the journal for list_journal debugging. Thus, add some fields to the member info section so we can remember where we left off. Signed-off-by: Kent Overstreet <kent.overstreet@linux.dev>

2024-05-06bcachefs: Add missing validation for superblock section cleanKent Overstreet
We were forgetting to check for jset entries that overrun the end of the section - both in validate and to_text(); to_text() needs to be safe for types that fail to validate. 2024-04-20bcachefs: Check for journal entries overruning end of sb clean sectionKent Overstreet
Fix a missing bounds check in superblock validation. Note that we don't yet have repair code for this case - repair code for individual items is generally low priority, since the whole superblock is checksummed, validated prior to write, and we have backups. 2024-01-01bcachefs: bch_sb_field_downgradeKent Overstreet
Add a new superblock section that contains a list of { minor version, recovery passes, errors_to_fix } that is - a list of recovery passes that must be run when downgrading past a given version, and a list of errors to silently fix. The upcoming disk accounting rewrite is not going to be fully compatible: we're going to have to regenerate accounting both when upgrading to the new version, and also from downgrading from the new version, since the new method of doing disk space accounting is a completely different architecture based on deltas, and synchronizing them for every jounal entry write to maintain compatibility is going to be too expensive and impractical. 2023-11-01bcachefs: Enumerate fsck errorsKent Overstreet
This patch adds a superblock error counter for every distinct fsck error; this means that when analyzing filesystems out in the wild we'll be able to see what sorts of inconsistencies are being found and repair, and hence what bugs to look for. Errors validating bkeys are not yet considered distinct fsck errors, but this patch adds a new helper, bkey_fsck_err(), in order to add distinct error types for them as well.
