2021-12-08brcmsmac: rework LED dependenciesArnd Bergmann
This is now the only driver that selects the LEDS_CLASS framework, which is normally user-selectable. While it doesn't strictly cause a bug, rework the Kconfig logic to be more consistent with what other drivers do, and only enable LED support in brcmsmac if the dependencies are all there, rather than using 'select' to enable what it needs. 2021-08-21brcmsmac: make array addr static const, makes object smallerColin Ian King
Don't populate the array addr on the stack but instead it static const. 2021-06-15brcmsmac: Drop unnecessary NULL check after container_ofGuenter Roeck
The parameter passed to ai_detach() is guaranteed to never be NULL because it is checked by the caller. Consequently, the result of container_of() on it is also never NULL, and a NULL check on it is unnecessary. Even without that, the NULL check would still be unnecessary because the subsequent kfree() can handle NULL arguments. On top of all that, it is misleading to check the result of container_of() against NULL because the position of the contained element could change, which would make the check invalid. Remove it. This change was made automatically with the following Coccinelle script. @@ type t; identifier v; statement s; @@ <+... ( t v = container_of(...); | v = container_of(...); ) ... when != v - if (\( !v \| v == NULL \) ) s ...+> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210511235629.1686038-1-linux@roeck-us.net
2021-06-15brcmsmac: improve readability on addresses copyÍñigo Huguet
A static analyzer identified as a potential bug the copy of 12 bytes from a 6 bytes array to a 6 bytes array. Both arrays are 6 bytes addresses. Although not being a real bug, it is not immediately clear why is done this way: next 6 bytes address, contiguous to the first one, must also be copied to next contiguous 6 bytes address of the destination. Copying each one separately will make both static analyzers and reviewers happier. 2020-09-09brcmsmac: fix memory leak in wlc_phy_attach_lcnphyKeita Suzuki
When wlc_phy_txpwr_srom_read_lcnphy fails in wlc_phy_attach_lcnphy, the allocated pi->u.pi_lcnphy is leaked, since struct brcms_phy will be freed in the caller function. Fix this by calling wlc_phy_detach_lcnphy in the error handler of wlc_phy_txpwr_srom_read_lcnphy before returning. 2020-07-14brcm80211: brcmsmac: Move LEDs to GPIO descriptorsLinus Walleij
The code in the BRCM80211 BRCMSMAC driver is using the legacy GPIO API to to a complex check of the validity of the base of the GPIO chip and whether it is present at all and then adding an offset to the base of the chip. Use the existing function to obtain a GPIO line internally from a GPIO chip so we can use the offset directly and modernize the code to use GPIO descriptors instead of integers from the global GPIO numberspace. 2019-10-04mac80211: simplify TX aggregation startJohannes Berg
There really is no need to make drivers call the ieee80211_start_tx_ba_cb_irqsafe() function and then schedule the worker if all we want is to set a bit. Add a new return value (that was previously considered invalid) to indicate that the driver is immediately ready for the session, and make drivers use it. The only drivers that remain different are the Intel ones as they need to negotiate more with the firmware. 2019-09-03brcm80211: Avoid possible null-pointer dereferences in wlc_phy_radio_init_2056()Jia-Ju Bai
In wlc_phy_radio_init_2056(), regs_SYN_2056_ptr, regs_TX_2056_ptr and regs_RX_2056_ptr may be not assigned, and thus they are still NULL. Then, they are used on lines 20042-20050: wlc_phy_init_radio_regs(pi, regs_SYN_2056_ptr, (u16) RADIO_2056_SYN); wlc_phy_init_radio_regs(pi, regs_TX_2056_ptr, (u16) RADIO_2056_TX0); wlc_phy_init_radio_regs(pi, regs_TX_2056_ptr, (u16) RADIO_2056_TX1); wlc_phy_init_radio_regs(pi, regs_RX_2056_ptr, (u16) RADIO_2056_RX0); wlc_phy_init_radio_regs(pi, regs_RX_2056_ptr, (u16) RADIO_2056_RX1); Thus, possible null-pointer dereferences may occur. To avoid these bugs, when these variables are not assigned, wlc_phy_radio_init_2056() directly returns. 2019-02-01wireless: prefix header search paths with $(srctree)/Masahiro Yamada
Currently, the Kbuild core manipulates header search paths in a crazy way [1]. To fix this mess, I want all Makefiles to add explicit $(srctree)/ to the search paths in the srctree. Some Makefiles are already written in that way, but not all. The goal of this work is to make the notation consistent, and finally get rid of the gross hacks. Having whitespaces after -I does not matter since commit 48f6e3cf5bc6 ("kbuild: do not drop -I without parameter"). I also removed one header search path in: drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/brcm80211/brcmutil/Makefile I was able to compile without it. When calling debugfs functions, there is no need to ever check the return value. The function can work or not, but the code logic should never do something different based on this. 2018-10-13brcmsmac: AP mode: update beacon when TIM changesAli MJ Al-Nasrawy
Beacons are not updated to reflect TIM changes. Fix it by updating beacon templates on mac80211 set_tim callback. 2018-09-20brcmsmac: Use kvmalloc() for ucode allocationsTakashi Iwai
The ucode chunk might be relatively large and the allocation with kmalloc() may fail occasionally. Since the data isn't DMA-transferred but by manual loops, we can use vmalloc instead of kmalloc. For a better performance, though, kvmalloc() would be the best choice in such a case, so let's replace with it.
