2025-06-19driver: net: ethernet: mtk_star_emac: fix suspend/resume issueYanqing Wang
[ Upstream commit ba99c627aac85bc746fb4a6e2d79edb3ad100326 ] Identify the cause of the suspend/resume hang: netif_carrier_off() is called during link state changes and becomes stuck while executing linkwatch_work(). To resolve this issue, call netif_device_detach() during the Ethernet suspend process to temporarily detach the network device from the kernel and prevent the suspend/resume hang. 2025-05-29net: ethernet: mtk_ppe_offload: Allow QinQ, double ETH_P_8021Q onlyEric Woudstra
[ Upstream commit 7fe0353606d77a32c4c7f2814833dd1c043ebdd2 ] mtk_foe_entry_set_vlan() in mtk_ppe.c already supports double vlan tagging, but mtk_flow_offload_replace() in mtk_ppe_offload.c only allows for 1 vlan tag, optionally in combination with pppoe and dsa tags. However, mtk_foe_entry_set_vlan() only allows for setting the vlan id. The protocol cannot be set, it is always ETH_P_8021Q, for inner and outer tag. This patch adds QinQ support to mtk_flow_offload_replace(), only in the case that both inner and outer tags are ETH_P_8021Q. Only PPPoE-in-Q (as before) and Q-in-Q are allowed. A combination of PPPoE and Q-in-Q is not allowed. 2025-05-22net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: fix typo for declaration MT7988 ESW capabilityBo-Cun Chen
[ Upstream commit 1bdea6fad6fb985ff13828373c48e337c4e939f9 ] Since MTK_ESW_BIT is a bit number rather than a bitmap, it causes MTK_HAS_CAPS to produce incorrect results. [ Upstream commit e8716b5b0dff1b3d523b4a83fd5e94d57b887c5c ] Remove redundant PSE reset. When setting FE register there is no need to reset PSE, doing so may cause FE to work abnormal. 2025-05-18net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: reset all TX queues on DMA freeDaniel Golle
[ Upstream commit 4db6c75124d871fbabf8243f947d34cc7e0697fc ] The purpose of resetting the TX queue is to reset the byte and packet count as well as to clear the software flow control XOFF bit. MediaTek developers pointed out that netdev_reset_queue would only resets queue 0 of the network device. Queues that are not reset may cause unexpected issues. Packets may stop being sent after reset and "transmit timeout" log may be displayed. Import fix from MediaTek's SDK to resolve this issue. 2025-05-09net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: fix SER panic with 4GB+ RAMChad Monroe
[ Upstream commit 6e0490fc36cdac696f96e57b61d93b9ae32e0f4c ] If the mtk_poll_rx() function detects the MTK_RESETTING flag, it will jump to release_desc and refill the high word of the SDP on the 4GB RFB. Subsequently, mtk_rx_clean will process an incorrect SDP, leading to a panic. Add patch from MediaTek's SDK to resolve this. 2025-05-09net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: sync mtk_clks_source_name arrayDaniel Golle
[ Upstream commit 8c47d5753a119f1c986bc3ed92e9178d2624e1e8 ] When removing the clock bits for clocks which aren't used by the Ethernet driver their names should also have been removed from the mtk_clks_source_name array. Remove them now as enum mtk_clks_map needs to match the mtk_clks_source_name array so the driver can make sure that all required clocks are present and correctly name missing clocks. 2025-05-09net: ethernet: mtk-star-emac: rearm interrupts in rx_poll only when advisedLouis-Alexis Eyraud
[ Upstream commit e54b4db35e201a9173da9cb7abc8377e12abaf87 ] In mtk_star_rx_poll function, on event processing completion, the mtk_star_emac driver calls napi_complete_done but ignores its return code and enable RX DMA interrupts inconditionally. This return code gives the info if a device should avoid rearming its interrupts or not, so fix this behaviour by taking it into account. 2025-02-08net: airoha: Fix wrong GDM4 register definitionChristian Marangi
[ Upstream commit d31a49d37cb132b31cc6683eef2122f8609d6229 ] Fix wrong GDM4 register definition, in Airoha SDK GDM4 is defined at offset 0x2400 but this doesn't make sense as it does conflict with the CDM4 that is in the same location. Following the pattern where each GDM base is at the FWD_CFG, currently GDM4 base offset is set to 0x2500. This is correct but REG_GDM4_FWD_CFG and REG_GDM4_SRC_PORT_SET are still using the SDK reference with the 0x2400 offset. 2024-07-25net: mediatek: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference in dummy net_device ↵Breno Leitao
handling Move the freeing of the dummy net_device from mtk_free_dev() to mtk_remove(). Previously, if alloc_netdev_dummy() failed in mtk_probe(), eth->dummy_dev would be NULL. The error path would then call mtk_free_dev(), which in turn called free_netdev() assuming dummy_dev was allocated (but it was not), potentially causing a NULL pointer dereference. By moving free_netdev() to mtk_remove(), we ensure it's only called when mtk_probe() has succeeded and dummy_dev is fully allocated. 2024-06-05net: ethernet: mtk_eth_soc: handle dma buffer size soc specificFrank Wunderlich
The mainline MTK ethernet driver suffers long time from rarly but annoying tx queue timeouts. We think that this is caused by fixed dma sizes hardcoded for all SoCs. We suspect this problem arises from a low level of free TX DMADs, the TX Ring alomost full. The transmit timeout is caused by the Tx queue not waking up. The Tx queue stops when the free counter is less than ring->thres, and it will wake up once the free counter is greater than ring->thres. If the CPU is too late to wake up the Tx queues, it may cause a transmit timeout. Therefore, we increased the TX and RX DMADs to improve this error situation. Use the dma-size implementation from SDK in a per SoC manner. In difference to SDK we have no RSS feature yet, so all RX/TX sizes should be raised from 512 to 2048 byte except fqdma on mt7988 to avoid the tx timeout issue.
