2024-06-21octeontx2-pf: Add ucast filter count configurability via devlink.Sai Krishna
The existing method of reserving unicast filter count leads to wasted MCAM entries if the functionality is not used or fewer entries are used. Furthermore, the amount of MCAM entries differs amongst Octeon SoCs. We implemented a means to adjust the UC filter count via devlink, allowing for better use of MCAM entries across Netdev apps. commands: To get the current unicast filter count # devlink dev param show pci/0002:02:00.0 name unicast_filter_count To change/set the unicast filter count # devlink dev param set pci/0002:02:00.0 name unicast_filter_count value 5 cmode runtime Signed-off-by: Sai Krishna <saikrishnag@marvell.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Horman <horms@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2024-06-05octeontx2-af: Add debugfs support to dump NIX TM topologyAnshumali Gaur
This patch adds support to dump NIX transmit queue topology. There are multiple levels of scheduling/shaping supported by NIX and a packet traverses through multiple levels before sending the packet out. At each level, there are set of scheduling/shaping rules applied to a packet flow. Each packet traverses through multiple levels SQ->SMQ->TL4->TL3->TL2->TL1 and these levels are mapped in a parent-child relationship. This patch dumps the debug information related to all TM Levels in the following way. Example: $ echo <nixlf> > /sys/kernel/debug/octeontx2/nix/tm_tree $ cat /sys/kernel/debug/octeontx2/nix/tm_tree A more desriptive set of registers at each level can be dumped in the following way. 2024-05-27Octeontx2-pf: Free send queue buffers incase of leaf to innerHariprasad Kelam
There are two type of classes. "Leaf classes" that are the bottom of the class hierarchy. "Inner classes" that are neither the root class nor leaf classes. QoS rules can only specify leaf classes as targets for traffic. Root / \ / \ 1 2 /\ / \ 4 5 classes 1,4 and 5 are leaf classes. class 2 is a inner class. When a leaf class made as inner, or vice versa, resources associated with send queue (send queue buffers and transmit schedulers) are not getting freed. 2024-05-22tracing/treewide: Remove second parameter of __assign_str()Steven Rostedt (Google)
With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper value and does not need to be passed in again. This means that with: __string(field, mystring) Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str() will now only get a single parameter. There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script: git grep -l __assign_str | while read a ; do sed -e 's/\(__assign_str([^,]*[^ ,]\) *,[^;]*/\1)/' $a > /tmp/test-file; mv /tmp/test-file $a; done I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those were multi line assignments that the sed script above would fail to catch. Note, the same updates will need to be done for: __assign_str_len() __assign_rel_str() __assign_rel_str_len() I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both). 2024-05-10octeontx2-pf: Reuse Transmit queue/Send queue index of HTB classHariprasad Kelam
Real number of Transmit queues are incremented when user enables HTB class and vice versa. Depending on SKB priority driver returns transmit queue (Txq). Transmit queues and Send queues are one-to-one mapped. In few scenarios, Driver is returning transmit queue value which is greater than real number of transmit queue and Stack detects this as error and overwrites transmit queue value. For example user has added two classes and real number of queues are incremented accordingly - tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100Mbit ceil 100Mbit prio 1 quantum 1024 - tc class add dev eth1 parent 1: classid 1:2 htb rate 100Mbit ceil 200Mbit prio 7 quantum 1024 now if user deletes the class with id 1:1, driver decrements the real number of queues - tc class del dev eth1 classid 1:1 But for the class with id 1:2, driver is returning transmit queue value which is higher than real number of transmit queue leading to below error eth1 selects TX queue x, but real number of TX queues is x This patch solves the problem by assigning deleted class transmit queue/send queue to active class. 2024-05-06octeontx2-pf: Treat truncation of IRQ name as an errorSimon Horman
According to GCC, the constriction of irq_name in otx2_open() may, theoretically, be truncated. This patch takes the approach of treating such a situation as an error which it detects by making use of the return value of snprintf, which is the total number of bytes, excluding the trailing '\0', that would have been written. 2024-03-29octeontx2-af: Fix issue with loading coalesced KPU profilesHariprasad Kelam
The current implementation for loading coalesced KPU profiles has a limitation. The "offset" field, which is used to locate profiles within the profile is restricted to a u16. This restricts the number of profiles that can be loaded. This patch addresses this limitation by increasing the size of the "offset" field. The Octeontx2 MAC block (CGX) has separate data paths (SMU and GMP) for different speeds, allowing for efficient data transfer. The previous patch which added pause frame configuration has a bug due to which pause frame feature is not working in GMP mode. This patch fixes the issue by configurating appropriate registers. 2024-03-20octeontx2-af: Use separate handlers for interruptsSubbaraya Sundeep

2024-03-20octeontx2-pf: Send UP messages to VF only when VF is up.Subbaraya Sundeep

2024-03-20octeontx2-pf: Use default max_active works instead of oneSubbaraya Sundeep
Only one execution context for the workqueue used for PF and VFs mailbox communication is incorrect since multiple works are queued simultaneously by all the VFs and PF link UP messages. Hence use default number of execution contexts by passing zero as max_active to alloc_workqueue function. With this fix in place, modify UP messages also to wait until completion. 2024-03-20octeontx2-pf: Wait till detach_resources msg is completeSubbaraya Sundeep

2024-03-20octeontx2: Detect the mbox up or down message via registerSubbaraya Sundeep
A single line of interrupt is used to receive up notifications and down reply messages from AF to PF (similarly from PF to its VF). PF acts as bridge and forwards VF messages to AF and sends respsones back from AF to VF. When an async event like link event is received by up message when PF is in middle of forwarding VF message then mailbox errors occur because PF state machine is corrupted. Since VF is a separate driver or VF driver can be in a VM it is not possible to serialize from the start of communication at VF. Hence to differentiate between type of messages at PF this patch makes sender to set mbox data register with distinct values for up and down messages. Sender also checks whether previous interrupt is received before triggering current interrupt by waiting for mailbox data register to become zero. 2024-02-21octeontx2-af: Consider the action set by PFSubbaraya Sundeep
AF reserves MCAM entries for each PF, VF present in the system and populates the entry with DMAC and action with default RSS so that basic packet I/O works. Since PF/VF is not aware of the RSS action installed by AF, AF only fixup the actions of the rules installed by PF/VF with corresponding default RSS action. This worked well for rules installed by PF/VF for features like RX VLAN offload and DMAC filters but rules involving action like drop/forward to queue are also getting modified by AF. Hence fix it by setting the default RSS action only if requested by PF/VF.
