2017-01-18net:add one common config ARCH_WANT_RELAX_ORDER to support relax orderingMao Wenan
Relax ordering(RO) is one feature of 82599 NIC, to enable this feature can enhance the performance for some cpu architecure, such as SPARC and so on. Currently it only supports one special cpu architecture(SPARC) in 82599 driver to enable RO feature, this is not very common for other cpu architecture which really needs RO feature. This patch add one common config CONFIG_ARCH_WANT_RELAX_ORDER to set RO feature, and should define CONFIG_ARCH_WANT_RELAX_ORDER in sparc Kconfig firstly. 2017-01-03ixgbe: Fix issues with EEPROM accessMark Rustad
There are two problems with EEPROM access. One is that it needs to hold the semaphore until the entire response is read or else the response can be corrupted by other firmware accesses. The second problem is that acquiring and releasing the semaphore is slow, so it should be taken and released once when multiple EEPROM accesses will be done. Both of these issues can be solved by adding a new function, ixgbe_hic_unlocked, to issue firmware commands that will assume that the caller has acquired the needed semaphore. 2016-07-22ixgbe: cleanup crosstalk fixDon Skidmore
This patch address a few issues with the initial crosstalk fix. Most important of which is the SDP that indicates the presents of a SFP+ module changes between HW types. With this change that is taken in to consideration It also moves the check closer to the base code that checks link. This makes it so we only need to do the check in one spot. 2016-07-22ixgbe: Change register variable to unsignedDon Skidmore

2016-04-25ixgbe: use BIT() macroJacob Keller
Several areas of ixgbe were written before widespread usage of the BIT(n) macro. With the impending release of GCC 6 and its associated new warnings, some usages such as (1 << 31) have been noted within the ixgbe driver source. Fix these wholesale and prevent future issues by simply using BIT macro instead of hand coded bit shifts. Also fix a few shifts that are shifting values into place by using the 'u' prefix to indicate unsigned. It doesn't strictly matter in these cases because we're not shifting by too large a value, but these are all unsigned values and should be indicated as such. 2016-04-24ixgbe: consolidate the configuration of spoof checkingEmil Tantilov
Consolidate the logic behind configuring spoof checking: Move the setting of the MAC, VLAN and Ethertype spoof checking into ixgbe_ndo_set_vf_spoofchk(). Change ixgbe_set_mac_anti_spoofing() to set MAC spoofing per VF similar to the VLAN and Ethertype functions - this allows us to call the helper functions in ixgbe_ndo_set_vf_spoofchk() for all spoof check types and only disable MAC spoof checking when creating MACVLAN. 2016-04-07ixgbe: Take manageability semaphore for firmware commandsMark Rustad
We need to take the manageability semaphore when issuing firmware commands to avoid problems. With this in place, the semaphore is no longer taken in the ixgbe_set_fw_drv_ver_generic function, since it will now always be taken by the ixgbe_host_interface_command function. 2016-04-07ixgbe: Clean up interface for firmware commandsMark Rustad

2016-04-07ixgbe: Correct length check for round upMark Rustad
The function ixgbe_host_interface_command actually uses a multiple of word sized buffer to do its business, but only checks against the actual length passed in. This means that on read operations it could be possible to modify locations beyond the length passed in. Change the check to round up in the same way, just to avoid any possible hazard. 2015-12-12ixgbe: Clear stale pool mappingsAlexander Duyck
This patch makes certain that we clear the pool mappings added when we configure default MAC addresses for the interface. Without this we run the risk of leaking an address into pool 0 which really belongs to VF 0 when SR-IOV is enabled. 2015-12-12ixgbe: Reorder search to work from the top down instead of bottom upAlexander Duyck
This patch is meant to reduce the complexity of the search function used for finding a VLVF entry associated with a given VLAN ID. The previous code was searching from bottom to top. I reordered it to search from top to bottom. In addition I pulled an AND statement out of the loop and instead replaced it with an OR statement outside the loop. This should help to reduce the overall size and complexity of the function. There was also some formatting I cleaned up in regards to whitespace and such. 2015-12-12ixgbe: Add support for adding/removing VLAN on PF bypassing the VLVFAlexander Duyck
This patch adds support for bypassing the VLVF entry creation when the PF is adding a new VLAN. The advantage to doing this is that we can then save the VLVF entries for the VFs which must have them in order to function, versus the PF which can fall back on the default pool entry. 2015-12-12ixgbe: Simplify configuration of setting VLVF and VLVFBAlexander Duyck
This patch addresses several issues within the VLVF and VLVFB configuration First was the fact that code was overly complicated with multiple conditional paths depending on if we adding or removing and which bit we were going to add or remove. Instead of messing with all that I have simplified it by using (vid / 32) and (1 - vid / 32) to identify our register and the other vlvfb register. Second was the fact that we were likely leaking a few packets into the PF in cases where we were deleting an entry and the VFTA filter for that entry as the ordering was such that we deleted the pool and then the VLAN filter instead of the other way around. I have updated that by adding a check for no bits being set and if that occurs we clear things up in the proper order. 2015-12-12ixgbe: Reduce VT code indent in set_vfta by introducing jump labelAlexander Duyck
In order to clear the way for upcoming work I thought it best to drop the level of indent in the ixgbe_set_vfta_generic function. Most of the code is held in the virtualization specific section. So the easiest approach is to just add a jump label and jump past the bulk of the code if it is not enabled. 2015-12-12ixgbe: Simplify definitions for regidx and bit in set_vftaAlexander Duyck
This patch simplifies the logic for setting the VFTA register by removing the number of conditional checks needed. 2015-09-23ixgbe: Fix FCRTH value in VM-to-VM loopback modeMark Rustad
The 82599 and X540 datasheets require that FCRTH be "set" for Tx switching (VM-to-VM loopback) but it did not previously specify what the value should be set to. It has now been determined that the correct value is RXPBSIZE - (24*1024). This setting is also required for later devices. 2014-12-05ixgbe: Add X550 support function pointersDon Skidmore
This patch extends the function pointer structure to include the new X550 class MAC types. This creates a new file ixgbe_x550.c that contains all of the new methods. 2014-12-05ixgbe: cleanup checksum to allow error resultsDon Skidmore
Currently the shared code checksum calculation function only returns a u16 and cannot return an error code. 2014-12-05ixgbe: Add x550 SW/FW semaphore supportDon Skidmore
The X550 hardware will use more bits in the mask, so change the prototypes to match. This larger mask will require changes in callers which use the higher bits.
