2023-02-08media: imx: imx7-media-csi: Zero format struct before calling .get_fmt()Laurent Pinchart
The v4l2_subdev_format structure passed to the .get_fmt() subdev operation in imx7_csi_video_validate_fmt() isn't zeroed, which can cause undefined behaviour. Fix it. 2023-02-08media: imx: imx7-media-csi: Cleanup errors in imx7_csi_async_register()Laurent Pinchart
It's good practice for functions to perform error cleanup internally when they fail, in order to not leave the device in a half-initialized state. Move the async notifier cleanup from the probe error path to the imx7_csi_async_register(), and drop the v4l2_async_nf_unregister() call as there is no error path after the async notifier gets registered. 2022-11-25media: imx: Unstage the imx7-media-csi driverLaurent Pinchart
The imx7-media-csi driver, currently in staging, is ready for prime-time. The staging TODO file lists a few items specific to that driver, that are already addressed (the "all of the above" part) or can be addressed later: - The frame interval monitoring support is a software mechanism to monitor the device for unexpected stalls, and should be part of the V4L2 core if desired. - Restricting the support media bus formats based on the SoC integration only aims at reducing userspace confusion by not enumerating options that are known not to be possible, it won't cause regressions if handled later. Move the description of the media bus format restriction TODO item to the driver, drop the other TODO items, and move the driver out of staging. 2022-09-30media: imx-jpeg: Lock on ioctl encoder/decoder stop cmdMing Qian
the ioctl encoder/decoder cmd is under queue lock, and buf_done is in the irq, it can't be locked with the mutex, they are not synchronized. when v4l2_update_last_buf_state is called to handle the encoder/decoder stop cmd, the last src buffer may be done at the same time. so it's possible that last_src_buf is set, but the output rdy_queue is empty, then driver won't mark it stopped, as v4l2_m2m_is_last_draining_src_buf() will always return false and v4l2_m2m_dst_buf_is_last() return false too. In this case, the drain will be blocked. add the hw lock around the ioctl encoder/decoder cmd, to synchronize with the buf_done. Add a V4L2 mem-to-mem driver for the Vivante DW100 Dewarp Processor IP core found on i.MX8MP SoC. The processor core applies a programmable geometrical transformation on input images to correct distorsion introduced by lenses. The transformation function is exposed as a grid map with 16x16 pixel macroblocks indexed using X, Y vertex coordinates. The dewarping map can be set from application through a dedicated v4l2 control. If not set or invalid, the driver computes an identity map prior to starting the processing engine. 2022-07-16media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Add version registerLaurent Pinchart
Register at offset 0x00 isn't documented, but the NXP BSP imx8-mipi-csi2-sam driver defines it as a version register. Tests on i.MX7D and i.MX8MP have confirmed this, with values matching the version of the IP core specified in the respective reference manuals. This commit doesn't make use of the version register at runtime as the compatible strings are enough to identify the IP core version. 2022-04-24media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Protect mipi_csis_dump_regs()Jacopo Mondi
The mipi_csis_dump_regs() function accesses the interface registers in order to printout their values for debug purposes. As the function access the registers, it requires the interface to be powered up. Currently this is only enforced in one of the function's callers (mipi_csis_log_status)() but not when the function is called by the debugfs attribute handler. Make sure to access registers only if the interface is powered up and remove the same check from the caller. 2022-04-24media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Drop powered flagJacopo Mondi
The mipi_csis_device.powered flag only serves for the purpose of not accessing registers in mipi_csis_log_status() when the interface is not powered up. Instead of manually tracking the power state, rely on pm_runtime_get_if_in_use() to remove the 'powered' flag. Also remove the locking in the function as runtime_pm() is refcounted and there's no risk of the interface being powered down behind our backs. 2022-04-24media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Simplify mipi_csis_s_stream()Jacopo Mondi
Simplify the mipi_csis_s_stream() function. This actually fixes a bug, as if calling the subdev's s_stream(1) fails, mipi_csis_stop_stream() was not called. 2022-04-24media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Simplify runtime PM implementationLaurent Pinchart
The runtime PM resume handler is guaranteed to be called on a suspended device, and the suspend handler on a resumed device. The implementation can thus be simplified. While at it, rename the mipi_csis_device state field to powered, as the now state contains a single flag only. 2022-04-24media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Don't stop streaming at runtime suspend timeLaurent Pinchart
Streaming is guaranteed to have been stopped by the time the device gets runtime suspended, as pm_runtime_put() is called from .s_stream(0) only. Drop the manual stop. 2022-04-24media: imx: imx-mipi-csis: Drop unneeded system PM implementationLaurent Pinchart
There's no need to implement system suspend/resume manually, as video pipelines are supposed to be suspended in a controlled and ordered manner by the data sink driver at system suspend time (and similarly at resume time). Drop the system suspend/resume handlers.
