Adding one empty lat buffer with parameter 'is_empty_flag = true' used to flush core work queue decode. Queue the empty lat buffer to core list when driver need to flush decode. It's mean core already decode all existed lat buffer when get empty lat buffer, then wake up core decode done event, the driver will exit when getting core dec done event. There are so many lat buffer in core context list, some instances maybe be scheduled for a very long time. Moving the core context to each instance, it only be used to control lat buffer of each instance. And the core work queue of each instance is scheduled by system. 2023-05-26media: mediatek: vcodec: Avoid unneeded error loggingYunfei Dong
Since the LAT decoder works faster than its CORE, getting the trans buffer may be done only after CORE finishes processing: avoid printing an error if the decode function returns -EAGAIN, as this means that the buffer from CORE is not yet available, but will be at a later time. Also change the log level for calls to vdec_msg_queue_dqbuf() in H264 and VP9 LAT decoder drivers to avoid excessive logging. This reverts commit cd61f3c6794bea2b717fe6083ca2ad189db75418. That commit's purpose was to prevent the padding from being decoded when userspace didn't set a selection, relying on the default one. However, as described in the Step 6 of the Initialization procedure for the Memory-to-Memory Stateful Video Encoder Interface [1]: "Set the visible resolution for the stream metadata via VIDIOC_S_SELECTION() on the OUTPUT queue if it is desired to be different than the full OUTPUT resolution." And from the Note: "To avoid encoding the padding, the client needs to explicitly configure this selection target" Hence the behavior in the original commit doesn't follow the interface and needs to be reverted. queue_setup variable *nplanes is provided by user via system call argument. The possible value of q_data->fmt->num_planes is 1-3, while the value of *nplanes can be 1-8. The array access by index i can cause array out-of-bounds. Fix this bug by checking *nplanes against the array size. In order to simplify the masters to set their respective dma masks, MTK IOMMU helps to centralize the processing. Because all the dma ranges is set in IOMMU, IOMMU knows well the dma mask requirements of masters. After this patch, the masters(codec here) code does not need care dma-ranges/dma_mask related information. The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2023-04-10media: mediatek: vcodec: Force capture queue format to MM21Yunfei Dong
While the decoder can produce frames in both MM21 and MT21C formats, only MM21 is currently supported by userspace tools (like gstreamer and libyuv). In order to ensure userspace keeps working after the SCP firmware is updated to support both MM21 and MT21C formats, force the MM21 format for the capture queue. This is meant as a stopgap solution while dynamic format switching between MM21 and MT21C isn't implemented in the driver. Commit a1a2b7125e10 ("of/platform: Drop static setup of IRQ resource from DT core") removed support for calling platform_get_resource(..., IORESOURCE_IRQ, ...) on DT-based drivers, but the probe() function of mtk-vcodec's encoder was still making use of it. This caused the encoder driver to fail probe. Since the platform_get_resource() call was only being used to check for the presence of the interrupt (its returned resource wasn't even used) and platform_get_irq() was already being used to get the IRQ, simply drop the use of platform_get_resource(IORESOURCE_IRQ) and handle the failure of platform_get_irq(), to get the driver probing again.
