2022-09-21iio: proximity: srf04: Use pm_ptr() to remove unused struct dev_pm_opsJonathan Cameron
If CONFIG_PM is not set, the pm_ptr() will ensure that the struct dev_pm_ops and callbacks are removed without the need for __maybe_unused markings. In this case we can't simply use DEFINE_RUNTIME_DEV_PM_OPS() because that would provide suspend and resume functions without the checks the driver is doing before calling runtime_pm functions (whether the necessary GPIO is provided). It may be possible to clean that up in future by moving the checks into the callbacks. Rationale: Reduces attack surface on kernel devs opening the links for MITM as HTTPS traffic is much harder to manipulate. There is a mix of trigger assignments with some iio device parent assignments that are removed via this patch. JC: A few more added via inspection of all parent = statements in drivers/iio. Some of these may just have crossed with this series, others were less obvious to scripting due to some cross file / module boundary calls. 2020-02-14iio: srf04: add power management featureAndreas Klinger
Add suspend and resume operations for being used by optional power management. The suspend function is switching off an GPIO which can be used by the hardware to switch power off. The resume function is switching the GPIO on and sleeps an adjustable time to give the device a chance to be up and running. If activated the driver gets into autosuspend after some time of inactivity. 2019-10-12iio: srf04: fix wrong limitation in distance measuringAndreas Klinger
The measured time value in the driver is limited to the maximum distance which can be read by the sensor. This limitation was wrong and is fixed by this patch. It also takes into account that we are supporting a variety of sensors today and that the recently added sensors have a higher maximum distance range. 2017-02-04iio: distance: add devantech us ranger srf04Andreas Klinger
This patch adds support for the ultrasonic ranger srf04 of devantech. This device is measuring the distance of objects in a range between 1 cm and 3 meters and a theoretical resolution of 3 mm. There are two GPIOs used: - trigger: set as output to the device when the measurement should start - echo: set by the device when the ultrasonic wave is sent out and reset when the echo is recognized; this needs to be an interrupt input The time between setting and resetting the echo pin is the time the waveform needed for one round trip. This time is recorded in the interrupt handler. The distance is calculated in the read function by using the ultrasonic speed at 20 degrees celsius which is about 343 m/s.
