2020-06-20iio: Move attach/detach of the poll func to the coreLars-Peter Clausen
All devices using a triggered buffer need to attach and detach the trigger to the device in order to properly work. Instead of doing this in each and every driver by hand move this into the core. At this point in time, all drivers should have been resolved to attach/detach the poll-function in the same order. This patch removes all explicit calls of iio_triggered_buffer_postenable() & iio_triggered_buffer_predisable() in all drivers, since the core handles now the pollfunc attach/detach. The more peculiar change is for the 'at91-sama5d2_adc' driver, since it's not immediately obvious that removing the hooks doesn't break anything. Eugen was able to test on at91-sama5d2-adc driver, sama5d2-xplained board. All seems to be fine. 2020-06-14iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment. 2017-08-22iio:accel: drop assign iio_info.driver_module and iio_trigger_ops.ownerJonathan Cameron
The equivalent of both of these are now done via macro magic when the relevant register calls are made. The actual structure elements will shortly go away. Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com> Reviewed-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de>
2016-04-03iio: remove unused gpio consumer.h includeIrina Tirdea
GPIO handling code has been removed from the drivers (since this is now handled by the ACPI core) in commit 0f0796509c07 ("iio: remove gpio interrupt probing from drivers that use a single interrupt"). Remove the include for linux/gpio/consumer.h since it is no longer used. Signed-off-by: Irina Tirdea <irina.tirdea@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@kernel.org>
2015-10-03iio: remove gpio interrupt probing from drivers that use a single interruptOctavian Purdila
Commit 845c877009cf014b ("i2c / ACPI: Assign IRQ for devices that have GpioInt automatically") automatically assigns the first ACPI GPIO interrupt in client->irq, so we can remove the probing code from drivers that use only one interrupt. 2015-10-03iio: fix drivers that use 0 as a valid IRQ in client->irq (part 2)Octavian Purdila
Since commit dab472eb931bc291 ("i2c / ACPI: Use 0 to indicate that device does not have interrupt assigned") 0 is not a valid i2c client irq anymore, so change all driver's checks accordingly. The same issue occurs when the device is instantiated via device tree with no IRQ, or from the i2c sysfs interface, even before the patch above. 2015-08-02iio: Export I2C module alias information in missing driversJavier Martinez Canillas
The I2C core always reports the MODALIAS uevent as "i2c:<client name" regardless if the driver was matched using the I2C id_table or the of_match_table. So the driver needs to export the I2C table and this be built into the module or udev won't have the necessary information to auto load the correct module when the device is added.
