2020-01-29drm/nouveau: signal pending fences when channel has been killedBen Skeggs

2019-02-20drm/nouveau/svm: initial support for shared virtual memoryBen Skeggs
This uses HMM to mirror a process' CPU page tables into a channel's page tables, and keep them synchronised so that both the CPU and GPU are able to access the same memory at the same virtual address. While this code also supports Volta/Turing, it's only enabled for Pascal GPUs currently due to channel recovery being unreliable right now on the later GPUs. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2019-02-20drm/nouveau: prepare for enabling svm with existing userspace interfacesBen Skeggs
For a channel to make use of SVM features, it requires a different GPU MMU configuration than we would normally use, which is not desirable to switch to unless a client is actively going to use SVM. In order to supporting SVM without more extensive changes to the userspace interfaces, the SVM_INIT ioctl needs to replace the previous configuration safely. The only way we can currently do this safely, accounting for some unlikely failure conditions, is to allocate the new VMM without destroying the last one, and prioritising the SVM-enabled configuration in the code that cares. This will get cleaned up again further down the track. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2018-12-11drm/nouveau/fifo/gv100: return work submission token in channel ctor argsBen Skeggs
The token will also contain runlist ID on Turing, so instead expose it as an opaque value from NVKM so the client doesn't need to care. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2018-05-18drm/nouveau/fifo/gk104-: require explicit runlist selection for channel ↵Ben Skeggs
allocation We didn't used to be aware that runlist/engine IDs weren't the same thing, or that there was such variability in configuration between GPUs. By exposing this information to a client, and giving it explicit control of which runlist it's allocating a channel on, we're able to make better choices. The immediate effect of this is that on GPUs where CE0 is the "GRCE", we will now be allocating a copy engine running asynchronously to GR for BO migrations - as intended. 2017-11-02drm/nouveau/core/object: allow arguments to be passed to map functionBen Skeggs

2016-03-14drm/nouveau/fifo/gk110: expose KeplerChannelGpfifoBBen Skeggs
This class supports a WFI method (0x0078) that's not present on the KeplerChannelGpfifoA class. The binary driver exposes both classes on these GPUs for some reason, though there doesn't appear to be any difference in the setup that's done for each (ie. even if you allocate GpfifoA, the WFI method will still work). We shall just expose GpfifoB, as I don't see a good reason to report the presence of both. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>

2015-08-28drm/nouveau/nvif: simplify and tidy library interfacesBen Skeggs
A variety of tweaks to the NVIF library interfaces, mostly ripping out things that turned out to be not so useful. - Removed refcounting from nvif_object, callers are expected to not be stupid instead. - nvif_client is directly reachable from anything derived from nvif_object, removing the need for heuristics to locate it - _new() versions of interfaces, that allocate memory for the object they construct, have been removed. The vast majority of callers used the embedded _init() interfaces. - No longer storing constructor arguments (and the data returned from nvkm) inside nvif_object, it's more or less unused and just wastes memory. 2015-01-22drm/nouveau: finalise nvkm namespace switch (no binary change)Ben Skeggs
The namespace of NVKM is being changed to nvkm_ instead of nouveau_, which will be used for the DRM part of the driver. This is being done in order to make it very clear as to what part of the driver a given symbol belongs to, and as a minor step towards splitting the DRM driver out to be able to stand on its own (for virt). Because there's already a large amount of churn here anyway, this is as good a time as any to also switch to NVIDIA's device and chipset naming to ease collaboration with them. A comparison of objdump disassemblies proves no code changes. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2015-01-22drm/nouveau/nvif: namespace of nvkm accessors (no binary change)Ben Skeggs
NVKM is having it's namespace switched to nvkm_, which will conflict with these functions (which are workarounds for the fact that as of yet, we still aren't able to split DRM and NVKM completely). A comparison of objdump disassemblies proves no code changes. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2015-01-22drm/nouveau/sw: rename from software (no binary change)Ben Skeggs
Shorter device name, make consistent with our engine enums. 2015-01-22drm/nouveau/mmu: rename from vmmgr (no binary change)Ben Skeggs
Switch to NVIDIA's name for the device. 2014-12-02drm/nouveau: teach nouveau_bo_pin() how to force a contig vram allocationBen Skeggs
We have the ability to move buffers around in the kernel if necessary, and should probably use it rather than failing if userspace passes us a non-contig buffer for a plane. The NOUVEAU_GEM_TILE_NONCONTIG flag from userspace will become a mere initial placement hint once all the relevant paths have been updated. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2014-12-02drm/nouveau: allocate GPFIFOs and fences coherentlyAlexandre Courbot
Specify TTM_PL_FLAG_UNCACHED when allocating GPFIFOs and fences to allow them to be safely accessed by the kernel without being synced on non-coherent architectures. Signed-off-by: Alexandre Courbot <acourbot@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
