2022-06-14drm/amd/display: Fix monitor flash issueShah Dharati
[Why & How] For a some specific monitors, when connected on boot or hot plug, monitor flash for 1/2 seconds can happen during first HDCP query operation. Ading some delay in the init sequence for these monitors fixes the issue, so it is implemented as monitor specific patch. Rename dp/ to display/ to account for additional display-related helpers, such as HDMI. Update all related include statements. No functional changes. Various drivers, such as i915 and amdgpu, use similar naming scheme by putting code for video-output standards into a local display/ directory. 2021-10-27drm/amd/display: Fix deadlock when falling back to v2 from v3Nicholas Kazlauskas
[Why] A deadlock in the kernel occurs when we fallback from the V3 to V2 add_topology_to_display or remove_topology_to_display because they both try to acquire the dtm_mutex but recursive locking isn't supported on mutex_lock(). [How] Make the mutex_lock/unlock more fine grained and move them up such that they're only required for the psp invocation itself. 2021-07-28drm/amd/display: add update authentication interfaceWenjing Liu
[why] Previously to toggle authentication, we need to remove and add the same display back with modified adjustment. This method will toggle DTM state without actual hardware changes. This is not per design and would cause potential issues in the long run. 2021-06-08drm/amd/display: delay 100ms before restart after failing to read CP_IRQWenjing Liu
[why] Some DPRX will issue CP_IRQ when user disconnects a display that has been authenticated. Since display is being disconnecting dpcd read will fail. This will cause us to attempt HDCP retry on disconnection. We are adding a 100ms delay before retry. So we will only start retry if within 100ms there is no disconnection call to HDCP module. Instead of reading the desired 5 bytes of the actual target field, the code was reading 8. This could result in a corrupted value if the trailing 3 bytes were non-zero, so instead use an appropriately sized and zero-initialized bounce buffer, and read only 5 bytes before casting to u64. [Why] Current implementation of mod_hdcp_hdcp2_validate_ake_cert() does not process HDCP status message TA_HDCP2_MSG_AUTHENTICATION_STATUS__SIGNATURE_CERTIFICAT_ERROR. As a result, when there is a signature certificate error, mod_hdcp_hdcp2_validate_ake_cert would return the default status, which is success. [How] For all messages other than TA_HDCP2_MSG_AUTHENTICATION_STATUS__SUCCESS and TA_HDCP2_MSG_AUTHENTICATION_STATUS__RECEIVERID_REVOKED, return status as failure. 2020-04-09drm/amd/display: Remove hdcp display state with mst fixIsabel Zhang
[Why] Due to previous code changes, displays transition from active to active and added state immediately, making it redundant to have both display states. Previous change to fix this caused HDCP to get into a bad state when monitor is connected to MST hub, this change fixes that issue. [How] Change code behavior so when a device is added successfully the state remains as active and when addition is unsuccessful change state to inactive. This removes need for added and active state. 2020-03-19drm/amd/display: remove magic numbers in hdcp_ddcWenjing Liu
[why] DP doesn't have message id as the first byte of an hdcp message, current hdcp psp unifies HDMI and DP message so that it is required when reading DP HDCP messages in hdcp_ddc, a message id needs to be added as the first byte of the HDCP message. The id is currently assigned as a magic number which is not a good coding practice. [how] Replace magic numbers with macro defined in hdcp headers. [Why] Due to previous code changes displays which are in active state immediately transition to the active and added state. This makes the two states redundant and unnecessary. [How] Instead of updating the device state to active and added after successful addition, change state to inactive if addition failed. Also, change references to active and added state to just added state. 2020-03-09drm/amd/display: determine rx id list bytes to read based on device countWenjing Liu
[why] Some RX doesn't like us to read rx id list upto max rx id list size. As discussed, we decided to read rx id list based on device count. [how] According to HDCP specs the actual size of rx id list is calculated as rx id list size = 2+3+16+5*device_count. We will read 16 bytes at a time until it reached or exceeded rx id list size. [Why] When transitioning from SST to MST, the HDCP repeater in some MST displays will enter a bad state. The HDCP repeater is recovered after failing and performing authentication again. 2020-03-05drm/amd/display: Move mod_hdcp_displays to mod_hdcp structIsabel Zhang
[Why] Reset connection is called before remove display in mod_hdcp. When remove display is called, the display structure has been zeroed from reset connection. Since no displays can be found, remove display does not properly reset the hardware. This causes validation errors when another display is plugged into a different port afterwards. [How] Moved displays structure out of connections structure. Displays structure is now directly within mod_hdcp. Displays is no longer zeroed when reset connection is called.
