2024-06-29EDAC: Add missing MODULE_DESCRIPTION() macrosJeff Johnson
With ARCH=arm64 make allmodconfig && make W=1 C=1 reports: WARNING: modpost: missing MODULE_DESCRIPTION() in drivers/edac/layerscape_edac_mod.o Add the missing invocation of the MODULE_DESCRIPTION() macro to all files which have a MODULE_LICENSE(). This includes mpc85xx_edac.c and four octeon_edac-*.c files which, although they did not produce a warning with the arm64 allmodconfig configuration, may cause this warning with other configurations. 2023-11-20EDAC/fsl_ddr: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove(). fsl_mc_err_remove() is used as callback in two drivers. So these have to be converted together to the void returning remove callback. 2023-03-28EDAC: Sanitize MODULE_AUTHOR stringsBorislav Petkov (AMD)
Fixup the remaining MODULE_AUTHOR strings to not contain newlines. Shorten and unbreak others. No functional changes. Signed-off-by: Borislav Petkov (AMD) <bp@alien8.de> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230328134309.23159-1-bp@alien8.de
2022-10-21EDAC: Check for GHES preference in the chipset-specific EDAC driversJia He
Call ghes_get_devices() to check whether ghes_edac should be used on the platform where it is preferred over the corresponding chipset-specific EDAC driver. Unlike the existing edac_get_owner() check, the ghes_get_devices() check works independent to the module_init ordering. 2016-12-15edac: rename edac_core.h to edac_mc.hMauro Carvalho Chehab
Now, all left at edac_core.h are at drivers/edac/edac_mc.c, so rename it to edac_mc.h. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
