2024-06-12crypto: ccp - drop platform ifdef checksArnd Bergmann
[ Upstream commit 42c2d7d02977ef09d434b1f5b354f5bc6c1027ab ] When both ACPI and OF are disabled, the dev_vdata variable is unused: drivers/crypto/ccp/sp-platform.c:33:34: error: unused variable 'dev_vdata' [-Werror,-Wunused-const-variable] This is not a useful configuration, and there is not much point in saving a few bytes when only one of the two is enabled, so just remove all these ifdef checks and rely on of_match_node() and acpi_match_device() returning NULL when these subsystems are disabled. 2024-03-26crypto: ccp - Avoid discarding errors in psp_send_platform_access_msg()Mario Limonciello
[ Upstream commit 0e8fca2f12ceb77c3a6b6f210135031f264aa612 ] Errors can potentially occur in the "processing" of PSP commands or commands can be processed successfully but still return an error code in the header. This second case was being discarded because PSP communication worked but the command returned an error code in the payload header. Capture both cases and return them to the caller as -EIO for the caller to investigate. The caller can detect the latter by looking at `req->header->status`. 2024-01-25crypto: ccp - fix memleak in ccp_init_dm_workareaDinghao Liu
[ Upstream commit a1c95dd5bc1d6a5d7a75a376c2107421b7d6240d ] When dma_map_single() fails, wa->address is supposed to be freed by the callers of ccp_init_dm_workarea() through ccp_dm_free(). However, many of the call spots don't expect to have to call ccp_dm_free() on failure of ccp_init_dm_workarea(), which may lead to a memleak. Let's free wa->address in ccp_init_dm_workarea() when dma_map_single() fails. 2023-11-20crypto: ccp - Get a free page to use while fetching initial nonceMario Limonciello
[ Upstream commit 53f7f779f45cbe1771bc4ae05f0320e204a18611 ] dbc_dev_init() gets a free page from `GFP_KERNEL`, but if that page has any data in it the first nonce request will fail. This prevents dynamic boost control from probing. To fix this, explicitly request a zeroed page with `__GFP_ZERO` to ensure first nonce fetch works. 2023-07-20crypto: ccp - Add support for fetching a nonce for dynamic boost controlMario Limonciello
Dynamic Boost Control is a feature offered on AMD client platforms that allows software to request and set power or frequency limits. Only software that has authenticated with the PSP can retrieve or set these limits. Create a character device and ioctl for fetching the nonce. This ioctl supports optionally passing authentication information which will influence how many calls the nonce is valid for. 2023-04-06crypto: ccp - Clear PSP interrupt status register before calling handlerJeremi Piotrowski
The PSP IRQ is edge-triggered (MSI or MSI-X) in all cases supported by the psp module so clear the interrupt status register early in the handler to prevent missed interrupts. sev_irq_handler() calls wake_up() on a wait queue, which can result in a new command being submitted from a different CPU. This then races with the clearing of isr and can result in missed interrupts. A missed interrupt results in a command waiting until it times out, which results in the psp being declared dead. This is unlikely on bare metal, but has been observed when running virtualized. In the cases where this is observed, sev->cmdresp_reg has PSP_CMDRESP_RESP set which indicates that the command was processed correctly but no interrupt was asserted. 2022-08-26crypto: ccp - Initialize PSP when reading psp data file failedJacky Li
Currently the OS fails the PSP initialization when the file specified at 'init_ex_path' does not exist or has invalid content. However the SEV spec just requires users to allocate 32KB of 0xFF in the file, which can be taken care of by the OS easily. To improve the robustness during the PSP init, leverage the retry mechanism and continue the init process: Before the first INIT_EX call, if the content is invalid or missing, continue the process by feeding those contents into PSP instead of aborting. PSP will then override it with 32KB 0xFF and return SEV_RET_SECURE_DATA_INVALID status code. In the second INIT_EX call, this 32KB 0xFF content will then be fed and PSP will write the valid data to the file. In order to do this, sev_read_init_ex_file should only be called once for the first INIT_EX call. Calling it again for the second INIT_EX call will cause the invalid file content overwriting the valid 32KB 0xFF data provided by PSP in the first INIT_EX call. A quirk for fixing the committed TCB version, when upgrading from a firmware version earlier than 1.50. This is a known issue, and the documented workaround is to load the firmware twice. 2022-06-24crypto: ccp - During shutdown, check SEV data pointer before usingTom Lendacky
On shutdown, each CCP device instance performs shutdown processing. However, __sev_platform_shutdown_locked() uses the controlling psp structure to obtain the pointer to the sev_device structure. However, during driver initialization, it is possible that an error can be received from the firmware that results in the sev_data pointer being cleared from the controlling psp structure.
