2020-09-11Documentation/kvm/arm: improve description of HVC_SOFT_RESTARTPingfan Liu
Besides disabling MMU, HVC_SOFT_RESTART also clears I+D bits. These behaviors are what kexec-reboot expects, so describe it more precisely. That's it. Remove all references to KVM itself, and document that although it is no more, the ABI between SVC and HYP still exists. 2019-10-21KVM: arm64: Document PV-time interfaceSteven Price
Introduce a paravirtualization interface for KVM/arm64 based on the "Arm Paravirtualized Time for Arm-Base Systems" specification DEN 0057A. This only adds the details about "Stolen Time" as the details of "Live Physical Time" have not been fully agreed. User space can specify a reserved area of memory for the guest and inform KVM to populate the memory with information on time that the host kernel has stolen from the guest. A hypercall interface is provided for the guest to interrogate the hypervisor's support for this interface and the location of the shared memory structures. 2019-07-24Documentation: move Documentation/virtual to Documentation/virtChristoph Hellwig
Renaming docs seems to be en vogue at the moment, so fix on of the grossly misnamed directories. We usually never use "virtual" as a shortcut for virtualization in the kernel, but always virt, as seen in the virt/ top-level directory. Fix up the documentation to match that. Fixes: ed16648eb5b8 ("Move kvm, uml, and lguest subdirectories under a common "virtual" directory, I.E:") Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
