commit 09812134071b3941fb81def30b61ed36d3a5dfb5 upstream. The 8250 binding before converting to json-schema states, - clock-frequency : the input clock frequency for the UART or - clocks phandle to refer to the clk used as per Documentation/devicetree for clock-related properties, where "or" indicates these properties shouldn't exist at the same time. Additionally, the behavior of Linux's driver is strange when both clocks and clock-frequency are specified: it ignores clocks and obtains the frequency from clock-frequency, left the specified clocks unclaimed. It may even be disabled, which is undesired most of the time. But "anyOf" doesn't prevent these two properties from coexisting, as it considers the object valid as long as there's at LEAST one match. Let's switch to "oneOf" and disallows the other property if one exists, precisely matching the original binding and avoiding future confusion on the driver's behavior. commit 903cc7096db22f889d48e2cee8840709ce04fdac upstream. Specify the properties which are essential and which are not for the Tegra I2C driver to function correctly. This was not added correctly when the TXT binding was converted to yaml. All the existing DT nodes have these properties already and hence this does not break the ABI. dmas and dma-names which were specified as a must in the TXT binding is now made optional since the driver can work in PIO mode if dmas are missing. 2025-06-19regulator: dt-bindings: mt6357: Drop fixed compatible requirementNícolas F. R. A. Prado
commit 9cfdd7752ba5f8cc9b8191e8c9aeeec246241fa4 upstream. Some of the regulators on the MT6357 PMIC currently reference the fixed-regulator dt-binding, which enforces the presence of a regulator-fixed compatible. However since all regulators on the MT6357 PMIC are handled by a single mt6357-regulator driver, probed through MFD, the compatibles don't serve any purpose. In fact they cause failures in the DT kselftest since they aren't probed by the fixed regulator driver as would be expected. Furthermore this is the only dt-binding in this family like this: mt6359-regulator and mt6358-regulator don't require those compatibles. Commit d77e89b7b03f ("arm64: dts: mediatek: mt6357: Drop regulator-fixed compatibles") removed the compatibles from Devicetree, but missed updating the binding, which still requires them, introducing dt-binding errors. Remove the compatible requirement by referencing the plain regulator dt-binding instead to fix the dt-binding errors. [ Upstream commit e683131e64f71e957ca77743cb3d313646157329 ] Fix a shortcoming in the bindings that doesn't allow for a separate external clock. The AXI PWMGEN IP block has a compile option ASYNC_CLK_EN that allows the use of an external clock for the PWM output separate from the AXI clock that runs the peripheral. This was missed in the original bindings and so users were writing dts files where the one and only clock specified would be the external clock, if there was one, incorrectly missing the separate AXI clock. The correct bindings are that the AXI clock is always required and the external clock is optional (must be given only when HDL compile option ASYNC_CLK_EN=1). 2024-12-05dt-bindings: pinctrl: samsung: Fix interrupt constraint for variants with ↵Krzysztof Kozlowski
fallbacks commit ffb30875172eabff727e2896f097ccd4bb68723f upstream. Commit 904140fa4553 ("dt-bindings: pinctrl: samsung: use Exynos7 fallbacks for newer wake-up controllers") added samsung,exynos7-wakeup-eint fallback to some compatibles, so the intention in the if:then: conditions was to handle the cases: 1. Single Exynos7 compatible or Exynos5433+Exynos7 or Exynos7885+Exynos7: only one interrupt 2. Exynos850+Exynos7: no interrupts This was not implemented properly however and if:then: block matches only single Exynos5433 or Exynos7885 compatibles, which do not exist in DTS anymore, so basically is a no-op and no enforcement on number of interrupts is made by the binding. Fix the if:then: condition so interrupts in the Exynos5433 and Exynos7885 wake-up pin controller will be properly constrained. [ Upstream commit 5efa23224bf573d4bceb51bc646dd67b6ccb83b5 ] In MediaTek PCIe gen3 bindings, "clocks" accepts a range of 1-6 clocks across all SoCs. But in practice, each SoC requires a particular number of clocks as defined in "clock-names", and the length of "clocks" and "clock-names" can be inconsistent with current bindings. For example: - MT8188, MT8192 and MT8195 all require 6 clocks, while the bindings accept 4-6 clocks. - MT7986 requires 4 clocks, while the bindings accept 4-6 clocks. Update minItems and maxItems properties for individual SoCs as needed to only accept the correct number of clocks. [ Upstream commit 4649cbd97fdae5069e9a71cd7669b62b90e03669 ] Some fix and updates in the following items: 1. examples: Update generic node name to 'audio-codec' to comply with the coming change in 'mt6359.dtsi'. This change is necessary to fix the dtbs_check error: pmic: 'mt6359codec' does not match any of the regexes: 'pinctrl-[0-9]+' 2. mediatek,dmic-mode: After inspecting the .dts and .dtsi files using 'mt6359-codec', it was discovered that the definitions of 'two wires' and 'one wire' are inverted compared to the DT schema. For example, the following boards using MT6359 PMIC: - mt8192-asurada.dtsi - mt8195-cherry.dtsi These boards use the same definitions of 'dmic-mode' as other boards using MT6358 PMIC. The meaning of '0' or '1' has been noted as comments in the device trees. Upon examining the code in [1] and [2], it was confirmed that the definitions of 'dmic-mode' are consistent between "MT6359 PMIC" and "MT6358 PMIC". Therefore, the DT Schema should be correct as is. 2024-10-24dt-bindings: iio: adc: ad7380: fix ad7380-4 reference supplyJulien Stephan
ad7380-4 is the only device from ad738x family that doesn't have an internal reference. Moreover its external reference is called REFIN in the datasheet while all other use REFIO as an optional external reference. If refio-supply is omitted the internal reference is used. Fix the binding by adding refin-supply and makes it required for ad7380-4 only. The display node in mt8195.dtsi was triggering a CHECK_DTBS error due to an excessively long 'clocks' property: display@14f06000: clocks: [[31, 14], [31, 43], [31, 44]] is too long To resolve this issue, the constraints for 'clocks' and other properties within the subschemas will be reinforced. 2024-10-23dt-bindings: display: mediatek: dpi: correct power-domains propertyMacpaul Lin
The MediaTek DPI module is typically associated with one of the following multimedia power domains: - POWER_DOMAIN_DISPLAY - POWER_DOMAIN_VDOSYS - POWER_DOMAIN_MM The specific power domain used varies depending on the SoC design. These power domains are shared by multiple devices within the SoC. In most cases, these power domains are enabled by other devices. As a result, the DPI module of legacy SoCs often functions correctly even without explicit configuration. It is recommended to explicitly add the appropriate power domain property to the DPI node in the device tree. Hence drop the compatible checking for specific SoCs. 2024-10-21dt-bindings: phy: qcom,sc8280xp-qmp-pcie-phy: Fix X1E80100 resets entriesAbel Vesa
The PCIe 6a PHY is actually Gen4 4-lanes capable. So the gen4x4 compatible describes it. But according to the schema, currently the gen4x4 compatible doesn't require both PHY and PHY-nocsr resets, while the HW does. So fix that by adding the gen4x4 compatible alongside the gen4x2 one for the resets description.
