2021-09-13ASoC: ti: rename CONFIG_SND_SOC_DM365_VOICE_CODEC_MODULEMasahiro Yamada
Kconfig generates include/generated/autoconf.h to make CONFIG options available to the pre-processor. Symbols with the value 'm' are suffixed with '_MODULE' Here is a conflict; CONFIG_FOO=m results in '#define CONFIG_FOO_MODULE 1', but CONFIG_FOO_MODULE=y also results in the same define. Also, CONFIG options that end with '_MODULE' confuse the Kconfig/fixdep interaction; fixdep always assumes CONFIG_FOO_MODULE comes from CONFIG_FOO=m, so the dependency is not properly tracked for symbols that end with '_MODULE'. For these reasons, CONFIG options that end with '_MODULE' should be avoided in general. (I am planning on adding a check in Kconfig.) This is the only case in the current kernel. The new option name was suggested by Péter Ujfalusi. 2021-09-13ASoC: SOF: core: allow module parameter to override dma trace KconfigPierre-Louis Bossart
Most distributions do not enable the SOF developer options and specifically the DMA trace. This is problematic for end-user/community support since the sof-logger tool cannot extract valuable information. Conversely in rare cases the DMA trace can lead to Heisenbugs by creating more traffic to system memory and more interrupts. This patch changes the logic so that the Kconfig value is used as a default value for a module parameter, but this value can be changed as needed. Users can override the distro DMA trace selection. Currently perf saves a build-id with size but old versions assumes the size of 20. In case the build-id is less than 20 (like for MD5), it'd fill the rest with 0s. I saw a problem when old version of perf record saved a binary in the build-id cache and new version of perf reads the data. The symbols should be read from the build-id cache (as the path no longer has the same binary) but it failed due to mismatch in the build-id. symsrc__init: build id mismatch for /home/namhyung/.debug/.build-id/53/e4c2f42a4c61a2d632d92a72afa08f00000000/elf. The build-id event in the data has 20 byte build-ids, but it saw a different size (16) when it reads the build-id of the elf file in the build-id cache. $ readelf -n ~/.debug/.build-id/53/e4c2f42a4c61a2d632d92a72afa08f00000000/elf Displaying notes found in: .note.gnu.build-id Owner Data size Description GNU 0x00000010 NT_GNU_BUILD_ID (unique build ID bitstring) Build ID: 53e4c2f42a4c61a2d632d92a72afa08f Let's fix this by allowing trailing zeros if the size is different.
