2013-04-18bonding: fix l23 and l34 load balancing in forwarding pathEric Dumazet
Since commit 6b923cb7188d46 (bonding: support for IPv6 transmit hashing) bonding doesn't properly hash traffic in forwarding setups. Vitaly V. Bursov diagnosed that skb_network_header_len() returned 0 in this case. More generally, the transport header might not be in the skb head. Use pskb_may_pull() & skb_header_pointer() to get it right, and use proto_ports_offset() in bond_xmit_hash_policy_l34() to get support for more protocols than TCP and UDP. Reported-by: Vitaly V. 2013-04-18bnx2x: Prevent UNDI FW illegal host accessDmitry Kravkov
When loading after UNDI (e.g., Boot from SAN) the UNDI does not gracefully yield its resources; The bnx2x driver handles that release itself. During the manipulation required to release those resources, it's possible for the UNDI to try and write to memory regions which are no longer accessible, causing the PCI bus to prevent further writes from the chip. This would in turn cause DMAE timeouts later on in the driver, as the driver will be unable to use the chip's DMA engines. This patch prevents the chip from actually writing through the PCI bus in said scenario, thus allowing the release without the unfortunate by-product. 2013-04-18ixgbe: Fix a bug in setting VF VLAN via PFGreg Rose
The PF driver does not check if the administrator has already set a VF VLAN via the PF driver before setting the new VLAN. This results in the following scenario: A) Administrator sets VF <n> to VLAN 100 B) Administrator sets VF <x> to VLAN 100 C) Administrator sets VF <n> to VLAN 200 D) The VF <n> driver continues to be able to receive traffic on VLAN 100 because the VLVFB pool enable bit for that VF was left set instead of being cleared as it should be. This fix ensures that the old VLAN filter for VF <n> is first removed and the pool bit enable for VF <n> is cleared so that it no longer receives traffic on VLAN 100. This patch actually reverts: igb: Support using build_skb in the case that jumbo frames are disabled The reason for reverting this patch is that it can lead to data corruption. The following flow was pointed out by Ben Hutchings: 1. skb is forwarded to another device 2. Packet headers are modified and it's put into a queue 3. Second packet is received into the other half of this page 4. Page cannot be reused, so is DMA-unmapped 5. The DMA mapping was non-coherent, so unmap copies or invalidates cache The headers added in step 2 get trashed in step 5. 2013-04-18ARM: highbank: fix cache flush ordering for cpu hotplugRob Herring
The L1 data cache flush needs to be after highbank_set_cpu_jump call which pollutes the cache with the l2x0_lock. This causes other cores to deadlock waiting for the l2x0_lock. Moving the flush of the entire data cache after highbank_set_cpu_jump fixes the problem. Use flush_cache_louis instead of flush_cache_all are that is sufficient to flush only the L1 data cache. flush_cache_louis did not exist when highbank_cpu_die was originally written. With PL310 errata 769419 enabled, a wmb is inserted into idle which takes the l2x0_lock. This makes the problem much more easily hit and causes reset to hang. 2013-04-18kprobes: Fix a double lock bug of kprobe_mutexMasami Hiramatsu
Fix a double locking bug caused when debug.kprobe-optimization=0. While the proc_kprobes_optimization_handler locks kprobe_mutex, wait_for_kprobe_optimizer locks it again and that causes a double lock. To fix the bug, this introduces different mutex for protecting sysctl parameter and locks it in proc_kprobes_optimization_handler. Of course, since we need to lock kprobe_mutex when touching kprobes resources, that is done in *optimize_all_kprobes(). Add a PCI quirk for VGA devices on Power to set the default VGA device. Ensures a default VGA is always set if a graphics adapter is present, even if firmware did not initialize it. If more than one graphics adapter is present, ensure the one initialized by firmware is set as the default VGA device. This ensures that X autoconfiguration will work. 2013-04-18powerpc/pci: fix PCI-e devices rescan issue on powerpc platformYuanquan Chen
Powerpc initializes the DMA and IRQ information in pci_scan_child_bus()-> pcibios_fixup_bus()->pcibios_setup_bus_devices(). But for the devices which are hotpluged, bus->is added has been set for the first scan of the PCI-e bus, so the initialization code won't be called. Then the hotpluged devices' driver will fail to load. For example : The PCI-e device 0001:03:00.0 is the Intel PCI-e e1000e network card, remove it from the system: # echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0001\:03\:00.0/remove # e1000e 0001:03:00.0 eth0: removed PHC Rescan it from it's bus: # echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0001\:02\:00.0/rescan ... e1000e 0001:03:00.0: Disabling ASPM L0s L1 e1000e 0001:03:00.0: No usable DMA configuration, aborting e1000e: probe of 0001:03:00.0 failed with error -5 So we move the DMA & IRQ initialization code from pcibios_setup_devices() and construct a new function pcibios_enable_device. We call this function in pcibios_enable_device, which will be called by PCI-e rescan code. At the meanwhile, we avoid the the impact on cardbus. I also validate this patch with silicon's PCIe-sata which encounters the IRQ issue. 2013-04-18powerpc: fix numa distance for form0 device treeVaidyanathan Srinivasan
The following commit breaks numa distance setup for old powerpc systems that use form0 encoding in device tree. commit 41eab6f88f24124df89e38067b3766b7bef06ddb powerpc/numa: Use form 1 affinity to setup node distance Device tree node /rtas/ibm,associativity-reference-points would index into /cpus/PowerPCxxxx/ibm,associativity based on form0 or form1 encoding detected by ibm,architecture-vec-5 property. All modern systems use form1 and current kernel code is correct. However, on older systems with form0 encoding, the numa distance will get hard coded as LOCAL_DISTANCE for all nodes. This causes task scheduling anomaly since scheduler will skip building numa level domain (topmost domain with all cpus) if all numa distances are same. (value of 'level' in sched_init_numa() will remain 0) Prior to the above commit: ((from) == (to) ? LOCAL_DISTANCE : REMOTE_DISTANCE) Restoring compatible behavior with this patch for old powerpc systems with device tree where numa distance are encoded as form0. 2013-04-18powerpc/ptrace: Add DAWR debug feature info for userspaceMichael Neuling
This adds new debug feature information so that the DAWR can be identified by userspace tools like GDB. Unfortunately the DAWR doesn't sit nicely into the current description that ptrace provides to userspace via struct ppc_debug_info. It doesn't allow for specifying that only some ranges are possible or even the end alignment constraints (DAWR only allows 512 byte wide ranges which can't cross a 512 byte boundary). After talking to Edjunior Machado (GDB ppc developer), it was decided this was the best approach. Just mark it as debug feature DAWR and tools like GDB can internally decide the constraints. 2013-04-18powerpc/pseries: close DDW race between functions of adapterNishanth Aravamudan
Given a PCI device with multiple functions in a DDW capable slot, the following situation can be encountered: When the first function sets a 64-bit DMA mask, enable_ddw() will be called and we can fail to properly configure DDW (the most common reason being the new DMA window's size is not large enough to map all of an LPAR's memory). With the recent changes to DDW, we remove the base window in order to determine if the new window is of sufficient size to cover an LPAR's memory. We correctly replace the base window if we find that not to be the case. However, once we go through and re-configured 32-bit DMA via the IOMMU, the next function of the adapter will go through the same process. And since DDW is a characteristic of the slot itself, we are most likely going to fail again. But to determine we are going to fail the second slot, we again remove the base window -- but that is now in-use by the first function/driver, which might be issuing I/O already. To close this window, keep a list of all the failed struct device_nodes that have failed to configure DDW. If the current device_node is in that list, just fail out immediately and fall back to 32-bit DMA without doing any DDW manipulation. 2013-04-18powerpc: Setup in HFSCR for POWER8Michael Neuling
Setup the HFSCR (Hypervisor Facility Status and Control Register) for POWER8 when running HV=1. The HFSCR is the same as the FSCR except it's for hypervisors. It controls the available of various facilities in OS and userspace levels. It also indicates the cause of a hypervisor facility unavailable interrupt (although we are not using this here). Currently ptrace_get_reg returns error as a value what make impossible to tell whether it is a correct value or error code. The patch adds a parameter which points to the real return data and returns an error code. As get_user_msr() never fails and it is used in multiple places so it has not been changed by this patch. The fix here at least lets the code build, and it will work, just with interrupts being delayed sometimes. 2013-04-18powerpc: remove dead CONFIG_HVC_SCOM codePaul Bolle
Commit c1fb6816fb1b78dd94b673b0fdaa9a7a16e97bd1 ("powerpc: Add relocation on exception vector handlers") added two lines of code that depend on the macro CONFIG_HVC_SCOM. That macro doesn't exist. Perhaps it was intended to use CONFIG_PPC_SCOM here. But since "maintence_interrupt" is a typo and there's nothing in arch/powerpc that looks like maintenance_interrupt it seems best to just delete these lines.
